About
Laurel Hill Golf Club has some of the best conditions of any public course in the area, which is why it is popular amongst the locals. It is hard to believe that the club sits where the DC Department of Corrections facility at Lorton used to be located. The layout has a traditional design, but unlike older golf courses it runs a lengthy 7,102 yards from the back tees. The greens are lightning fast and undulating. There is defined contouring throughout the course, which allows for some interesting holes. Although the fairways are wide open they are still punishing towards errant shots. There are dramatic elevation changes throughout the golf course, making a flat lie nearly impossible to find. The course provides a formidable test for even the most seasoned players.

Great course that's feeling the heat
This is a great design and a ton of fun to play where all of the holes are immensely different and provide different challenges, which makes for an incredibly exciting round of golf.
Unfortunately, the course is losing some of its pristine shape so, for the average rate of over $100, you could probably find something else in better shape.
Would still recommend, but beware that it is starting to succumb to wear and tear.

One of the top 3 courses in N. VA. It's understandable but they'll be doing lots of digging on all the holes over the next few months. The day I played, #10 was set up as a Par 3 (110 yd. to the flag).

Starter need to inform all golfers about rules and policy on driving range, chipping green, and putting green when check in. Instead, keep coming up to me and said you can’t drive cart there, you can’t chip there, return your cart over there not here. No signs, nothing. No 13 was closed, I paid for 18 holes not 17, no one , no body informed us. Not appreciate for that. Golf course is fun, trouble off fairways, and behind the greens. Up hill, down hill, bunkers are all in play. Challenging!!

Great local course
First time here, but will play it again. Tee boxes are in good condition, fairways were perfect, greens were a bit fast, and the bunkers had decent sand. However, I played late afternoon, so to be expected. A lot of elevation changes but still fun.

Will play again
Great course and will play again. Worth the fee. Greens firm and true. Fairways were immaculate and you need to play from the fairways. This course is long even from the whites at 6300+. Critiques would be the rough and bunkers, not well maintained. And many of the tee boxes were chewed up, indicative of a municipal course. But don’t let that keep you away unless you’re a county club snob. This course will test your metal. Bring balls and a few beers won’t hurt. Oh, be prepared the range is fine but the chipping green and putting green are on opposite side of the clubhouse. No big deal just leave yourself extra time for travel.

Great Course
Loved the course, a bit pricey but if you can get a deal take it!! I waiting a long time to get a good deal and I was happy I finally got in there!! I probably wouldn’t pay full price for a weekend day round but if you can get on an early twilight tee time take it!
