Laurel Hill Golf Club
About
Laurel Hill Golf Club has some of the best conditions of any public course in the area, which is why it is popular amongst the locals. It is hard to believe that the club sits where the DC Department of Corrections facility at Lorton used to be located. The layout has a traditional design, but unlike older golf courses it runs a lengthy 7,102 yards from the back tees. The greens are lightning fast and undulating. There is defined contouring throughout the course, which allows for some interesting holes. Although the fairways are wide open they are still punishing towards errant shots. There are dramatic elevation changes throughout the golf course, making a flat lie nearly impossible to find. The course provides a formidable test for even the most seasoned players.

Great everything
Had a great time. As a single, starter moved me up one tee time to make a foursome. Enjoyed their company. Also allowed me to get in all 18 before darkness descended. Course was in great shale. I love the layout. Laurel Hill is a BIG course. Lots of variation ( elevation, doglegs, bunkering etc.) to make each hole challenging and definitely not boring. I highly recommend this golf experience!
Good public/Muni in the DC Area.
Great value for the money. Challenging course but not overwhelming at the same time. Pace of play was good because its mid-January now. Course was not in bad shape given how cold/below freezing it's been here lately. Would recommend others to play.
Great condition especially for early winter
Laurel Hills never disappoints. A late December round and the course played firm and fast. Greens were a bit slower than normal but excellent for a late December round. Only disappointment was that I tried to buy a flag for my buddy who had a hole in one and the pro shop doesn’t sell course flags. Great value and a top tier course in the DMV.
Love the course, pace of play?
Not any one person’s fault but my tee time was behind a junior tournament. Somehow one should be made aware of this before booking. The great staff figured out how to get me around the tournament but this still is something that golfers need to be aware of before booking.
Winter golf is officially here ..
Got a great twilight deal for once .. the course was pretty empty and we finished the round and beat the darkness…
can’t never really go wrong with this course, it’s always in very good condition considering owned by the county ..
if you wanna $sve some few bucks now is the time play ‘cuz in a about 3 1/2 months from now, they will Jack up the rates ! .. as we all know it !
Laurel Hills after 2:30pm
Love the course but playing this late is a waste of money. There is always very slow golfers on the course multiple groups. Barely finish nine holes, pace of play is ridiculous.
Great Course
Really enjoyed the course and staff. Fairways and greens well maintained. Will definitely play again.
Beautiful and difficult
Having never played this course , but always heard and read very good reviews. Everything is on point in this golf course. Greens are lighting fast, if you leave the ball in the wrong side of the green it will roll down back. It’s a long course, unless you’re a long hitter. Fairways are roughs are in good condition. Bring your A game.
