Nice course friendly employee
We enjoyed the course. But it is too far
From our location. Wish there was an easy way to know mileage.
Coming back
Course was mowed and playable. Greens were smooth and probably rolled around a 9. Some bare areas on the greens were topdressed, but it didn't affect putting.
The course is in rough shape but you can see they're working to get it back.
Course from white tees play a bit long with winds blowing
Course was in good shape for November. Greens had just a bit of care needed but not much of a problem. Fairways in very good shape not crowded at all pace was great and had a great time
Much improved
First time playing here in over a year. Vowed to never play it again last year because it was in almost unplayable condition at the time. After reading about the new greens I decided to give it a try again and I’m glad that I did. 17 out of 18 greens were in really great shape. Tee boxes and fairways were decent. Rough wasn’t too bad, nothing like the overgrown stuff that you were guaranteed to lose your ball in last year. Overall the conditions were pretty good for the price. I’m glad to see that the owners decided to put a little money into this course to bring it back to where it needs to be. I’ll definitely come back again.
Second time as good as the first
Played this course for the second time in 2 weeks. I’d highly recommend this course. Only one hole had issues of significance. The course is in great condition.
On the Comeback
I am local and usually choose Stoneybrook East but decided to try Eastwood. I think with the new greens maturing and the removal of a lot of the sand bunkers replacing them with grass bunkers this course has turned around. Greens were soft but fast, and without water collecting in the bunkers the conditions around the green were vastly improved. Still needs work on a couple of the teeboxes (10, 15) but the course held up well. Pleasant surprise!
It Was worth the trip
It's been a few years since I played Eastwood. They are trying hard to bring it back and it shows. Fairways and greens are great. Rough was high but thats due to the recent rains. They were just getting to mow it when we were playing and the holes that were completed were prefect. Highly recommend it.
Skip Eastwood
Let me start by saying I am rooting for Eastwood because I have always loved the layout and it used to be a marquee course in East Orlando. But, the reality is that it’s just not in good shape. The greens are VERY good. You can tell they have spent a lot of time on them. Unfortunately, they have completely ignored the rest of the course. The fairways are decent but the rough is just ridiculously long and thick. There were many holes where ankle deep rough was right at the green. Literally, ankle deep rough and 1” further was the beginning of the green. Tee boxes were ok. Pace of play was outstanding because it was a ghost town. We played in 3 hrs. Sad to see only 5 carts lined up outside the clubhouse. Thank goodness the back 9 was a bit better because I was ready to call it quits after 3 holes. Eastwood should stop concentrating so much on greens and pay more attention to fairways and rough. There is more to a golf course than nice greens.
Eastwood is coming back
Kudos to all Eastwood staff involved with the resurgence of this once beautiful golf course for the eastside golfer. The frontdesk staff is freindly and courteous. The carts have USB ports for maintaining your phone and bluetooth speakers fully charged. The course is still recovering from the hard rains and the wear of the weekend golfers that dont have a clue and drive and leave tracks in all soft spots where the course is saturated. The greens roll really well. The fairways and tee boxes are in better than decent shape. The rough is penal at Eastwood, so it is a premium to keep it in the shortgrass. ALL EASTSIDE GOLFERS GIVE EASTWOOD A VISIT.AND SUPPORT THE GREAT WORK THAT IS GOING ON AND HELP BE A PART OF THIS TURN AROUND
Greens running true
This is our first visit to Eastwood and we were impressed with the layout and the greens. Some of the bunkers needed attention but overall a challenging course. We will be back.
Good course on the comeback
I play Eastwood often. The course layout is challenging yet fun. It has been neglected the past couple of years, but is definitely coming back. The greens are good as any and better than most. The fairways are a Dr well on the way to recovery. The rough and sand traps need more time and work. That being said, it is still a fun place to play.
Best shape in a long time
I grew up living in the neighborhood and playing the course so I have always been hopeful that it would make a comeback. It’s been hit or miss over the years but I think they finally got it back to where it needs to be. Greens rolled great. Fairways were pretty clean with a few weedy areas. The rough was long only because it was too wet to mow. Tee boxes were the best they have been in a long time. Keep up the good work!
They need to learn how to mow a course
I got suckered once again into playing this course. Never again! This place really should either mow the fairways and the rough or close down. It really sucks when you hit a nice ball(s) and can not find it.
Those prestigious greens are not so prestigious anymore. Come on Eastwood, send somebody out to actually HAND weed the greens. And, did I mention the fairways and rough need mowing as well!?!? I'm assuming they will eventually mow the fairways/rough...if and when they do, they will create windrows and I wonder how many bales per acre they will get! LOL
Terrific course
Played Eastwood two days after rain stopped and the course was dry and very playable. Fairways are mowed and the greens are in excellent shape. Much work has been given to the greens and it shows. The course if very enjoyable to play and is probably best bang for the buck. Have played there for many years and still my favorite. Excellent staff.
Sloppy
They said it was wet. :But sloppy is the real word. They should have closed it until it dried out. Worse round ever played.
