Decent Course
Course isn't bad for what you pay. Greens are slowly coming back. Fairways could use a little work. Some tee boxes are in rough shape. Overall, not a bad course. But wouldn't pay more than about $30 to play. Some challenging holes, some very bland holes.
Hard to Locate But Enjoyed playing
This course was a challenge to locate but I was greeted warmly. I played about 12 holes then I got tired. I was in a well kept neighborhood. I regret it is not close to the Dr. Phillips area. The scenery was eye-pleasing and well groomed. Thanks so much!
Tee boxes were in rough shape. Fairways too. Several greens had dead spots and it seemed like they weren’t in any hurry to fix.
If they would put some water on the course I would say it would be a better than average course.
Needs Work
Second time I played the course this year. First time, I had to wait for work to be done on 3; a car had crashed into the pond at 3/4; someone overdosed in the woods; the sprinklers came on while I was putting on the 4th green; and I had to chase a dog on 7. Meanwhile, the fairways and greens were so/so at that time. This past Saturday, the greens were fast but need a lot of work. The fairways are all brown, dead, hard and sandy. I understand that some may say that the weather earlier this year played a roll in conditions; however, many of the other courses I played already this year have much better (and greener) fairways, and the greens are not shredded as they are here. There are so many other local options with more bang for the buck price wise. This course is easily worth $20 for a round, but nowhere near the $35-50 range they are asking. Also, no cart service on the course and the bar/kitchen is non-existent.. Best thing it has going for it are the people, all I interacted with were very friendly. Once the horrendous greens are fixed and the fairways are in better shape, then I would gladly pay $50 to play here.
Course in fair shape
course coming back nicely. greens in good shape, fairways were ok. will play again.
Great shape. Nice for the price
Very nice course. The staff were excellent. Very challenging course. Bring a lot of balls.
Getting better
Greens are getting better all the time. Fairwaysmare well mowed but grass is getting a little thin. Likely because it’s winter and grass is semi dormant. Perhaps some more watering would help out. Overall a good round with very good winter conditions. We’v eplayed Here three times this winter and will probably be back again.
Worst greens I have ever seen
I used to play Eastwood all the time 10+ years ago. It can be a fun little track... But years of low to no maintenance have left this course pretty much a goat ranch. Sand has been allowed to grow in with grass, rough looks like something out of an old western movie and the greens were the worst I have ever seen. I heard that the folks at Eastwood replaced the greens in 2017, so I went out to play an inexpensive Saturday morning round and see for myself. If you can avoid the need to putt through the GIANT burned out and bug eaten patches on 2/3 of the greens, they actually roll nicely. The problem is that the patches are so prevalent, that I had to putt through this "ground under repair" on a third of my greens. Do yourself a favor and pay a few more bucks to play somewhere else...
I also had to laugh when I walked up and the clubhouse told me the rate was $45/person when every single tee time on Golfnow was $29.99 with no restrictions. If you really do want to play there, make sure you grab an online round (I did while standing at the checkout counter).
Very enjoyable
My wife and I played with two locals as the course was full of foursomes. Played 18 in a bit more than 4 hours. Nice layout . Good variety of challenges. Will play again next time in Orlando.
gene
course was great for what you pay for. greens were new had a few bad spots but other then that they were great fast and true. they seem to be doing a lot of work to the course to make it better. the staff was very friendly 1st time i played it and would definitely go back glade i didn't change i mind to play the course after i read the reviews most of them were bad but you can't believe everything you read take my advice and play this course you will like it i am a 10 handicap not a hacker
Good value
I always love this course lay out. One has to select the shot! However the greens are terrible. But give it more TLC this course will sure be a great one! Can’t wait to come back to play again!
I do not think we played the same course or you are used to play in a parking lot.....
This golf course is one of the worst I ever played.....
