The Pro was so kind and went that extra mile to ring and advise us that due to the recent floods, only 12 holes were open. (Even though we booked through Golf Now which was a 3rd party., so he didn’t need to.

Such a lovely man, and I’d just like to say if everyone was so conscious about their job, the world would be a much better place.

Thank you Martyn,, you are really flying the flag for Barnard Castle Golf.

By the way, the course was in great condition, so were the greens, what flood?

Late January.. Played at 1pm.course empty.. For time if year fantastic condition.. 18 full greens. Bunkers all raked and immaculate.. Always play here when I'm this way in winter. Top course

Windy day so no great scores but a really interesting course - the stream straight through the 17th must give regular players nightmares. Greens were excellent for January, soft and receptive but very true. One of those courses you play for the first time and then really want to play again immediately as you’ve learned where not to hit a few tee shots and you know you’ve left shots out there. Highly recommend for the price.

Great round yesterday.

First and foremost we were welcomed in the proshop and the guys were very warm and friendly.

The course itself played well given the conditions were not great. Its not a long course but can be challenging if you find yourself out of position.

We really enjoyed our round

A lovely course, with nice open fairways to attack and some challenging pin locations.

The course layout is fine, but you're sort of criss-crossing on yourself all round, but there are plenty of signs to follow to the next hole.

My only gripe came from the pace of play. Playing in a one-ball, I caught up to a four-ball by the 11th hole and they didn't let me through. Somewhat frustrating as I eventually lost any rhythm built up. Other than that (which has nothing to do with the course/club), I'd recommend this course to anyone.

The course was in fantastic condition considering the weather we just had. Really enjoyed it and not too hilly. Only thing was wasn't sure where next tee box was sometimes , it was signposted, a map on the card would be handy though.

Arrived Early went and told shop all ok we had tea and bacon sandwiches very good service and vfm. Steward good but I heard he is leaving. Pro shop great good stuff and reasonable prices. Course great and staff very friendly etc.

Will be back 10/10

Enjoyed playing this course, good layout, greens , bunkers and fairways in great condition, some tee box’s need a bit of work but overall a great course with some tricky holes .

Great course, very friendly staff great layout and great weather too, tee boxes just a bit long for my liking but it didn't deter from the overall feel and enjoyment of the course.
