Hobson Golf Club

Couldn’t really fault the condition of the course, considering it was 4th January and only 3 degrees C.. Only one temporary tee and no tempoaray greens, all of which played very true. As it was our first time playing here, my wife and I were glad we got paired up with 2 golfers who were familiar with the course layout, as there didn’t seem to be any course signage indicating where the next tee was. Friendly welcome at the pro shop. Trolley hire cost very reasonable (£2.50). Club house is a large, modern pyramid-like structure with very steep internal steps to access the bar on the upper level. (my wife struggled get get up them). Good food and drinks selection at very reasonable prices on offer (once you’ve climbed those steps.)

Would definitely play this course again.

Course was in nice condition despite a lot of rain in the previous days. Greens still rolled well in frosty conditions,. Was particularly impressed with the walkways between greens to next tees as they were nice and clean.

Played this course quite a lot and it’s usually spot on however played today and the pace was so slow I had to leave after 6 holes. Literally stranded waiting for 15 minutes on each tee box. Poorly staggered.

This course has some nice long holes that provide decent opportunity to give your driver and long irons an outing. Fairways are generally wide and forgiving and for the most part the rough isn’t too harsh either. Due to the way the corse is later out you rarely feel like you have other golfers breathing down your neck. Fairly exposed and high so if the wind gets up then you could be in for an interesting round. All in all very good.

Great course well maintained. Greens quick, fairways good, rough fair.

Second time playing this course. Good condition apart from the sand in the bunkers. Last time we visited, the welcome was abysmal. This time it was extremely warm. Greens very well kept: fairways ditto. A very pleasant round.

First time at this course,i am new times golf but found this course to be very well laid out,well maintained and everyone seemed very friendly

Enjoyable round despite some surface water course in decent condition and had good round at steady pace

Golf course in excellent nick with well thought out holes. Greens in great condition running true.Not too busy and to top it off we had a lovely sunny day. Good practise facilities too.

The golf course was in very good condition, very tidy, and without doubt offers excellent value for money.

With wide generous fairways and decent putting surfaces in pleasant surroundings it all adds to an enjoyable round of golf.

Overall most impressed, this was our second visit, and without hesitation intend to play again.

Fist time playing this course which i thought was in very good condition for the time of year and summer tees and greens which i must admit i prefer.

On the whole this course lacks challenges water features etc and is very flat ideal for older people with the utmost respect.

Will definetley play next summer and reccomend to everyone however not the ideal for me and my game.

Some great holes and some not so greathowever most courses are the same.

All of the greens were on, many muddy bits with lots of areas roped off, as might be expected for early November. The course has a few tricky holes where you need to know where "not to be"!

Good practice areas and even its own excellent driving range. Would definitely recommend for the price.

Enjoyable course which was in good condition despite much rain. Relatively straightforward for most of the round but playing long as fairways wet. Greens in remarkable condition. Welcome disappointing as person manning shop (PRO?) monosyllabic but this didn't spoil the overall experience. Very good value for money.

The Hobson is always excellent for the price they charge. Greens are as good as I've seen anywhere this year and fairways in great condition.

Played a 3 ball. Good pace of play in front and behind. Course was in good condition and the greens played well. Overall the course is fairly boring. Pretty much every hole is straight. First time I played there and would go back.

The condition of the course was very wet. Winter rules were in operation. Would have been better to have played in better underfoot conditions as water had not drained away . Will play again but with the ground a lot dryer

Played saturday afternoon was told course was very busy ( which is a good sign). Teed off before our allotted time which was also good and weren't held up by players in front or had players behind us. Course was in brilliant condition especially the greens which ran fast and true. Pretty wide open course so losing balls not really an issue. All in all a fun round and great course would highly recommend and we will be back again asap.
