Poor condition
Can’t understand how this course is in so poor condition, it could be magnificent . Great setting and surroundings but the greens and tee boxes were dreadful today(may) surely this is the time the course should be nearly perfect!
£30 a round, greens bald and bobbly and the tee boxes are atrocious . Won’t be hurrying back
Great course, fantastic round of golf every time
I have played here quite a number of times and each visit I thoroughly enjoy my round of Golf. The layout is superb and always plays wonderfully and this course boasts 4 very memorable and beautiful par 3's. As others have mentioned a couple of parts could do with a spruce up in the surrounding areas but at my last visit the fairways and especially the greens were exceptional, it is clear they are working hard to keep this course at a very high standard. It has a great half way house for refreshments and the views are stunning. Would 100% recommend this course and I always look forward to returning.
Good condition
Course was surprisingly quiet and in good condition especially the fairways for the time of year, the staff were excellent and could not have been more helpful. Excellent value at £20 will definitely play there again
Wild life .
Got there a bit early , went in the pro shop , told me I could start early after I had some practice, course was in excellent condition , no problems with pace of play as not many out , would recommend and will probably go back , as me and my friend go round the county playing different courses each week no wonder there aren't many visitors , clubs need to be realistic and drop there prices, we enjoyed linden hall golf .
Good layout
Greens need some work and so do some of the water features and surrounding areas
Crying out for significant investment
Linden Hall is a nice course with lots of potential but it's overdue for some significant investment to address various issues - feels like it hasn't had much done to it since it opened back in the late 90's. Some work was ongoing during our visit but not nearly enough to mitigate the very muddy fairways, badly kept bunkers and erratic greens. Front 9 is currently more pleasant than the back 9 with the 18th in particular needing a re-think concerning the trees that were originally intended to focus the approach into the final green but are now simply an overgrown nuisance that serve only to frustrate. The current owners need to either invest in the asset or sell it to allow someone else to bring the place back to life.
Day at Linden Hall
Despite wet weather, the course was pretty dry. Greens a bit hard and frosty to start but thawed quickly. Good layout. Interesting challenge. Can't complain for £21 in February. Would be much more difficult.in windy weather.
Lots of potential
Signage is very poor, right from arriving finding the golf reception was more by luck. This theme continued on the course, very few signs to indicate where the next tee was. The course condition taking into account the time of year was poor at best. There was a sign at the first tee informing players that green keepers have right of way, we didn’t see any green keepers the entire round. One of the holes had a winter green which is understandable however we weren’t informed until actually reaching the tee, where the green keeper had managed to spray in white par 3 winter tee. This turned out to be the worst winter green I have ever played. Fine winter greens are required but at least make them different to the fairway!! After this winter greens there was a sign for the next tee, however it leads you to miss out an entire hole unless you have a walk about ! The course has potential to be stunning, lovely course layout with some demanding holes with what could be lovely bunkers. However a lot of time and effort is required to bring this course up to a good standard. Once we finished the round trying to find a place to have a post course drink was a challenge and in the end we gave up. Again signage would be good! A real shame as this course and facilities has such great potential.
Potential
Jesus if this had some money spent on it, it would be best course around, no signs anywhere visible and rough in areas but wow what a course
I will be back again once it’s drier
Played alone and enjoyed the peace and quiet
Saturday afternoon and not many playing loved it
Boggy and not much direction
Played here probably 10 years ago prior to yesterday. For a course this time of year, this actually isn’t in the worst condition, and, you play the same fairways and greens as usual. Which, is refreshing for this time of year, in comparison to my local course that seems you carry a fairway mat.
The only gripe was the lack of direction (next tee this way sticks), closed half way house and white tees.
Some lovely holes
So to start, we played on 28th December and the course was very muddy in places. After saying that the mud didn't really effect the play.
The course in my opinion was very really well designed. The holes seem to be squeezed in to the landscape really well although theres some walking to be done. All the holes are great with the Par 3s all having stunning features. Someone designed the course with stunning bunkers EVERYWHERE.
Winter golf meant that it wasn't going to be perfect, the bunkers probably needed some attention, the fairways weren't perfect but we will definitely be back in the summer!
Course virtually unplayable !
Would love to play this course in even reasonable conditions - regrettably today it was virtually unplayable with numerous fairways and tees in standing water and mud - in my opinion course should not be open and should be allowed to drain and dry out. Came off towards the end covered in mud - shame !
Overpriced
Course was in poor condition this early in the winter , bunkers have had no work done by the look of it , very wet considering we had very little rain at the time of playing, we paid £30, I think £20 was a fair price considering the state of the course. Shame beautiful place …. needs money spending
All good.
Off at the right time. Never held up .
Fairways and greens in good condition.
It was wet!!
The course itself is very nice. We were unlucky with the weather and rained for several holes. Id definitely play this course again to see how she plays in the dry. Overall staff were very friendly and the course was in great condition
Good course.
Enjoyed the round despite poor weather. Refreshments afterwards were expensive and service was a bit slow.
Lovely coarse in great condition
Great coarse set in a beautiful backdrop. Only a couple of groups playing when we were there. The halfway hut was shut, to be honest I can understand why with the coarse been empty. Would recommend this set up to everyone. May be a bit tricky if you've a high handicap.
