Mellor & Townscliffe Golf Club

First time I’ve played here and would not think twice about recommending the course and the club pro. Booked a week before rang for a buggy with no problems with the pro. Course is in fantastic condition and worth every penny of the £30 green fee.

Course has great views of Manchester which would intern confirm it’s a little hilly if you can I’d strongly recommend a buggy for £30. Looking forward to playing here again

Arrived at the course, as it was a 18.10 tee time the pro shop was closed but the ladies members team were about to play and were very helpful, found my booking on their phone and then proceeded to help with scorecards and some info about the course.

The course although hilly was in fantastic condition, greens were all the same speed and again in superb condition.

Some of the holes especially the Par 3s are spectacular and although not long are all very tricky and unique.

Recommend this course to everybody, it even had 2 very friendly Rams wandering around to assist with keeping the grass mowed !!!

Lovely course, played a couple of times & always enjoyed it. staff and members always welcoming and friendly. Greens in great condition and some challenging pin positioning.

Played Mellor today and had a really good day out . The course is in lovely condition , the greens are good . The food and refreshments were lovely and it was all very good value. The views are absolutely stunning.

Usually good but back 9 should’ve been closed was like marsh sinking in the fairways and the greens were bobbly, wasn’t worth the 40 quid pp, but as I said I have played mellor 4-5 time before and it is usually very good

Player Mellor and Townscliffe for the first time, on the card it looks like a short course it don’t let that fool you as the up and down nature of the course leaves you knowing you’ve played it.

Playing in January came with the obvious draw backs but the course wasn’t in to bad a condition, the fairways were good but matts had to be used, it looked like the greens had just had some work done on them so they weeent in the best of nick.

We made a booking to play 18 but on arrival the course was closed and i am waiting on a refund as we never played

Its 1 of my favourite courses & it takes 1 hour 20 minutes to drive there but upon arriving we was told there was 5 holes closed which were the 13th to the 17th because it was wet so they decided that you could play from the 2nd agen to the 12th then the 18th but the problem was when you came off the 12th the 2nd had a number of 4 balls waitin on the 2nd it would of meant waiting at least 40 minutes to continue so we decided to leave there was a number of golfers doing the same. So all in all it wasn’t worth the money or the journey very disappointing.

Love this course. Nice mix of holes and lovely scenery. Walked it with a 2 ball in 4 hours but it's a hilly one and parts really get tiring, played first time here with a buggy and recommend it but be careful coming back down the hill. Only issue is they have a small amount of buggys.

5 stars for the green keepers the Greens and Fairways were fantastic.

The weather was great with no wind. Very hot day so the buggy was much appreciated on this up and down course.

A vert enjoyable day out with my son.

Would definitely play again at this reduced price. Well worth it.

Only problem 8-10 am teeoff, no staff ,no info on course Had to ask club members the way to tees,no score cards.

Tricky course, steep climb for the first 9 holes but amazing views. Would benefit from course map on the scorecard. Course in great condition, aircon very welcome in the bar.

Greens were fast and true. Played Mellor and Marple in the afternoon really enjoyed our knock. It is truly up there with our top five courses we play on a regular basis

Views are spectacular and it is a real pleasure regardless of score although that does help

Unfortunately we did not partake of the clubhouse due to teeing off at Marple in the afternoon.

Definitely next time

Nice course variety of holes doglegs short and long par 3s wide fairways.

A bit hilly and a few uphill downhill lies.

Good for heart and lungs
