Not long but not easy

An excellent little course tucked away on the bank of the Tyne…. With a drivable par 4 1st and 3rd you may be tricked into thinking this is an easy course, big tougher times await. Keep it straight to get a low score around here, greens we’re excellent too

Good course, greens in some areas required some attention but this only being picky. Challenging course especially if they is wind but really enjoyed the set up. Each shot requires thought to it would say its difficult for begginers

Very slow at Ryton

Picturesque Tyne Valley location and general facilities are very good + the course was in good condition and should have been a pleasure to play. However, our group and the group behind us were stood waiting on every hole for an extremely slow 3 ball that took over 4 hours to complete the course and spoiled our round [it should take no more than circa 3 hours for a round at Ryton]. The club needs to consider putting a marshal out on the course every now and again to ensure that this sort of thing doesn’t happen. Rating would have been 5 stars if the pace of play had been more realistic.

5 ball

stuck behind a 5 ball playing with white tees completely ruined my experience course was in good shape but the fact of waiting 10 minutes each hole and no play through ruined my experience would like to play again but not behind a 5 ball made a 3.30 round to a 5 hour round unacceptable

Ryton Golf Club

The worst condition I’ve ever seen this course in. Greens are in terrible condition. The fairway and rough run into one another, you can’t even tell where the fairway starts and where it ends, there’s big blotches of grass in the middle of the fairways. The fairways must not of been cut for the past 2-3 weeks if that. The top end of the course the 11th hole has diseased grass on it where it hasn’t been treated properly. The bunkers do have really nice sand in but the edges have been hacked away for some reason. Terrible course to play at the minute and I certainly wouldn’t be paying £22.50 to play there
