Nice course
This was the first time we have played this course and hearing stories about the train line and river kind of put me off but actually you don’t even notice the odd train. Yes the river is a ball ache when you have a wicked slice like me so take a few spare balls ha.
Lovely flat course and would be ideal in the summer.
Very friendly locals who helped us navigate around as the course is not very well signed but apart from that we will definitely play it again.
2 holes not in play
When I booked through golf now there was no mention that there were 2 holes (11 and 12) that were not playable. There was also no mention of having to use fairway mats whereas other courses we looked at did have this info available. Mentioned the two closed holes in the pro shop and was just told that’s how it is and told me to take it up with golf now. Poor. On the plus side, the sausage sarnie in the clubhouse was champion.
Wet course
Very wet course stuck behind 6 elderly gentleman who have forgotten golf etiquette. Also 2 holes closed no notice and no reduction in course fee
2 holes off
11th and 12th were off due to a fertiliser accident. I’d have expected the club to contact us and offer us an alternative date.
Ryton tiday
Played course today, in generally dry and sunny conditions with a couple of holes of drizzle. Course in great condition although two holes closed for drainage work, but still managed a full 18 by playing two holes twice. Absolute bargain for £12, well worrh the visit.
Not value for money
The round cost £15 each. On arrival I was informed that the course had been reduced to 16 holes. I asked the pro why I wasn’t informed prior to booking and was informed it wasn’t his responsibility. No offer of a refund just play the 16 holes. . Will not play there again.
Good course but scary near the car park
There is trees and netting around the car park but not enough to make it feel safe from a stray ball could definitely do with more protection but over all a good course with some tricky holes and good greens to test your game
First Hit at Ryton
Nice little course for the price…
Downsides
Pace of play, the trains, couple dead fairways, tee boxes messy.
That said, greens were great, some nice looking holes and will visit again but seems would be a better course in the spring/summer
Ryton/Clara vale
Full value for the money scenic flat course with a few challenging holes .
Fully enjoyed my day at Ryton course the only downside was a very slow 4 ball on buggies who played excessively slow without waving us through.
Lovely course , well maintained as usual .
Enjoyed my day, can't say any more than that. Only complaint I have is that my standers of play didn't do this course justice.
Worth Every Penny
We were a little sceptical when we were only charged £20 for a round of golf on a Sunday. However, reviews looked good, so we chanced it and I’m glad we did. The course is brilliant and has some quirky little holes. The greens are absolutely superb, a great putting surface. Well worth a visit and a steal at £20 on a Sunday morning.
Cracking as usual
Played several times. Great course for the price, greens superb and forgiving fairways for high handicappers.
Excellent value
Superb greens
Fab service for the moment we arrived
Outstanding value for money
