Great value for money

Not the longest course but well tended. For value for money and friendliness of staff it can’t be beaten. Snacks in bar were very good too.

Course is ok but the greens are an issue!

Booked through Teeoff times.co.uk which was a bargain price.

Course itself was ok but could do with some definition between fairways and rough as at times it all seems to merge into one. The only real downside is the greens which were very patchy and have signs of disease on them..

Ryton Golf Club

Playing on a Saturday afternoon was a good choice ...... the course was quiet and the pace of play was steady. There are some interesting golf holes and the course was in good condition although some greens were sandy and therefore difficult to judge pace. Overall a good day out and offering excellent value for money. Would recommend without hesitation.

Booked for 15:00, didn’t get to tee off until 15:20 as two 3-balls went off in front of us whilst we sat around the first tee area waiting like spare pricks at a wedding, yet when we booked there was no other groups booked on. Needless to say we got held up on almost every tee box.

Great value

I love this course. I don’t understand why it’s so cheap. It’s got challenge and opportunities to score. The course is kept well and the views are beautiful. I’ve played on a nice day at 3/4pm tee off twice and have been really impressed both times. I could see it being a bit tight when busy but not at the times I’ve played.

Greens

At the time of playing we where advised that the course was still set up as the summer course but when we approached the first freen it was apparent that the greens had been microtyned. A few holes in and then we had to hit a tee shot off an artificial surface, this was not a summer course set up.

Potentially Dangerous Layout.

Nice setting, modern clubhouse. When I played I got stuck behind a society outing who would not wave anyone through, and boy were they slow.

The course layout is dangerous, there are at least 2 holes where you could easily be hit by someone driving off. For the experienced golfer this shouldn't be a problem, but......

Other than that the place has a good feel to it.

Ryton

The course is quite challenging, with the river on one side and railway line on the other. There are some holes the will test playets of all abilities. The course does get a bit tight round 15 / 16, and to ease congestion 16 would be better played as a long par 3. Overall well worth a visit.

An absolute must!

The course was in excellent condition and played really well. Some real changes since the last time I played there and all have been really well done and are positive improvements to the course. The staff are as friendly as ever and you would have to go a long way to beat the food served and the value.

Only played here as it was cheap on a hot deal, what a surprise it was. Greens were excellent as was the rest of the course. Staff and members were friendly, will definitely play again even if it's £20/30
