About
Rancho Solano Golf Course sits midway between San Francisco and Sacramento, a location that makes it easily accessible from all the cities in the Bay Area. The course sprawls across hilly terrain, providing the layout with elevated tees and dramatically undulating greens. It is a tough course to walk but it's possible. Sparkling lakes dot the hills, coming into play on a few holes. There are also numerous strategically placed bunkers to contend with. The expansive greens offer some room for error but pin placement is still important. The first three holes on the back nine are some of Rancho Solano Golf Course's most challenging, especially the par-4 11th hole. Club selection is the key to this hole or you might lose your ball to the lake and even once you do seemingly reach safety, there are still bunkers backing the large green.

Happy As A Clam
I payed $28 through golf now and I thought was an absolute steal. The course is extremely well kept and the views are great. Staff is also very friendly. Would recommend the course for any skill level. Will be coming back for sure.
I tend to play its sister course, Paradise Valley, more often because it is closer to my home, but occasionally I have the time to get to Ranch to play. I really enjoy playing the course now that I have gotten better. The views are fantastic and the course has challenging holes, somewhat easy holes and then a few down right tough holes that are fun. Rancho Solano never disappoints. I even bring out of town friends here to play and they all enjoy themselves.
Rancho is Always in Great Shape
We drive over an hour to play here 3-4 times a year. It never disappoints. The exemplar of munis.
Break in
Beware this course, I had my window smashed in and everything stolen in the parking lot. The staff told me this happens all the time. I will never go back, also I was on pace for a 6 hour round before we quit after 12 holes.
Nice Course But SLOW PLAY
Rancho Solano is a very nice course. However, the pace of play keeps getting slower and slower. I am not sure if it is a result of a lot of other courses closing, or the Marshall's at Rancho Solano can do their job much better. Today's pace of play is making me reconsider Rancho Solano as a golf option.
Besdies th pace of play, Rancho Solano is a very nice course with extremely large and difficult greens.
Rancho
This is a well kept course, green all over, not a dry spot to be found. The Greens are firm, fast and quite large. The short stuff is nice, the rough is not overly deep. This course is well trapped, with some holes having many (more than 3) traps and several risk and reward situations. There is water that can come into play on about half the holes. I would not recommend this course to a beginner, but if you are non beginner & up to the challenge, THIS IS A GREAT COURSE.
Average Day at Rancho
Rancho Solano is a nice course, but overpriced for the quality of play. Today was especially hot (104 degrees). Again, the pace of play was somewhat slow. The greens are in good shape.
Fun course
Greens are fast and fun, a little hard to read and a few three putts are bound to happen but they are fun and challenging. Course is always in awesome shape, I have no problem driving about 50 miles to play this course weekly.
Course was great as usual, GolfNow was terrible, arrived at course tee time was not booked and had to wait an hour to play, thank god rancho staff was on it and helped us out. This course is an hour drive from my house and wasn’t contacted by golf now until I was well on my way to course, very disappointed in golf now.
Fun afternoon.
Course is in very good condition. Greens are easy to get to but putting is very challenging.

They let us tee off early since prior group was running late. Course was in pretty good shape considering the winter we had and staff were very friendly. Definately a fun course and worth playing..
