Rancho Solano Golf Course
About
Rancho Solano Golf Course sits midway between San Francisco and Sacramento, a location that makes it easily accessible from all the cities in the Bay Area. The course sprawls across hilly terrain, providing the layout with elevated tees and dramatically undulating greens. It is a tough course to walk but it's possible. Sparkling lakes dot the hills, coming into play on a few holes. There are also numerous strategically placed bunkers to contend with. The expansive greens offer some room for error but pin placement is still important. The first three holes on the back nine are some of Rancho Solano Golf Course's most challenging, especially the par-4 11th hole. Club selection is the key to this hole or you might lose your ball to the lake and even once you do seemingly reach safety, there are still bunkers backing the large green.

Great course
Rancho Solano has always been a great course. Immaculate condition, big greens and just good times. Love the GPS on the carts. Will play again soon.
The course was in great shape, the weather was also great. Played with three great guys. Nice course with a lot of elevation changes and large greens. You could three putt on any of this greens, that how big they are.
How a wonder day.
Great look green
The conditions of the course are really nice
And the green I great shape
And add to a beautiful day
Love the course !
Always a Great Value
Rancho Solano is a great course with a friendly staff. Course is always very well maintained.
3 hours for nine holes
Great day, great price, course has been well maintained. Only concern was pace of play. I left my group after 12 and went ahead five groups to find a wide open course. Played 16-18 without anyone in front or behind. Really not sure what the cause was other than players thinking they were better than they were and not keeping up with the group in front. Its most prevalent on 500 yard par 5's where people think if they drive it 225 yards they have to wait for the green to clear before they can hit.
Great experience
This course is in GREAT shape. It was a beautiful day and the round was a little over 5 hours. But we didn't mind. The views made up for the lengthy round.
Like hitting the Lotto !
Sunday morning about 10:30 you expect it to be crowded and very slow pace,My god we had the whole course to ourselves.I saw one single a couple times two or three holes ahead of us but that was it.That is hard to beat especially when taking a new friend from another state a 1 1/2 hour drive from home to check this out,he was stunned by the course and pace of play he couldn't stop talking about it.And he Loved talking with Craig in the pro shop, very genuine guy .Food was great and Kudo's to all the staff for working on Easter....amazing people work at this establishment!
I like the course. However (and this applies to Paradise Valley as well), SERIOUS maintenance needs to be done with the brakes on the carts. Their lack of braking power is nothing short of dangerous.
Nice Course
Spring is perfect time to play golf at Rancho Solano.
Great weather and nice green.
A good challenge
Every time I play this course it offers a good challenge, it’s one of my favorite courses to play.
Green Goddess!
Rancho Solano golf course is always in great shape . Playing this course in the spring is great as the surrounding hills are velvet green and really add to the beauty of the course. Always a “10” you should go.
Fun Course
The course is in really good shape but the greens were still recovering from being punched within the last month. They were still a little slow and bumpy but definitely playable. The staff at the course is top notch. I think it's the best muni in NorCal. Not to mention great food at the grill!
Nice layout; Tough greens
This is a fun, yet demanding layout. The large undulating greens wreak havoc on your short game. Overall, an enjoyable experience.
#1 for a reason
Check in was very friendly. Greens were punched about a week ago and played fine today. They should be perfect early next week. Rarely more than one pitch mark on the green before I walked on. Play for every GIR with huge greens and tap in pars are no problem. Be prepared for 2 par 3s of about 186 from the whites when warming up. Fairways are wide. First cut is not a bad penalty or a lost ball. Pace of play was fantastic. The cart gps and pace of play timer were a nice touch. The cart girl and marshal both visited and were great. Next time I will use the green reader on the gps before approach shots because large does not mean flat.
I am bummed about my favorite course
I love this golf course!! It is a gorgeous course, it has some of the best fairways and greens from Vallejo to Auburn. I first started playing here right after they first opened, hen I didn't play here for about 20 years. The course has gotten better with age.
Not for the sad news: I probably won't be playing here for a long time because they raised their green fees to an unreasonable amount. We used to book our Friday mornings on Golf Now for $42.00 which included a cart. The course now charge $77.00 green fees with a cart for these same days. That is ridiculous!
To the management of both Rancho Solano and Paradise Valley, Thank you for ruining a good thing!! I am really heart broken and bummed.
Rancho Solano, I have a tee time booked for Friday morning at 8:20 a.m. I believe it was $49.00, This is more reasonable to me.
