Rancho Solano Golf Course

About
Rancho Solano Golf Course sits midway between San Francisco and Sacramento, a location that makes it easily accessible from all the cities in the Bay Area. The course sprawls across hilly terrain, providing the layout with elevated tees and dramatically undulating greens. It is a tough course to walk but it's possible. Sparkling lakes dot the hills, coming into play on a few holes. There are also numerous strategically placed bunkers to contend with. The expansive greens offer some room for error but pin placement is still important. The first three holes on the back nine are some of Rancho Solano Golf Course's most challenging, especially the par-4 11th hole. Club selection is the key to this hole or you might lose your ball to the lake and even once you do seemingly reach safety, there are still bunkers backing the large green.

Excellent conditions
This course has always been in great condition and this particular day was no exception except that it was simply excellent. Smooth, plush fairways & consistent lighting greens. Fairly fluffy (for the most part anyway) bunkers. Rough cut very consistent too. Staff very professional & friendly. Water on course (& cold) including a beverage cart in the late afternoon. I will definitely return.
An enjoyable course
Rancho Solano is very enjoyable and moderately challenging especially the greens in the back nine.
Best bet for the area
This course is awesome, love the layout and especially the greens! They are large and in charge. Ball rolls true and is fast so watch for those subtle breaks they will get you.
Rancho
Nice course, a little tough for me, I'm still new at golf, close to home, course was in good, new ball's at the driving range
Tough day on the greens
Very good course. The greens however are unfair due to their extreme slopes. You need to be familiar with the slope of each green and have the ability to put the right spot. Otherwise be prepared for 3 putts or more.
excellent course but SLOW
Beautiful course-layout and conditions. Best value on a public course around the East Bay area. BUT the pace a lay was awful. No marshalls to move it along. 2 hours 10 on front nine but 3 hours 10 on back nine. They have to move people along
Pace…..
Ridiculously slow….. I went out at twilight(330) and experienced the slowest “round “in my 20 years of playing here… Never encountered 5 groups trying to playing the same hole- number 12.. One group was almost a hole behind to top it off. So bad I turned around and left. Unfortunately been the theme at this course as of late; hopefully they can improve soon..
They shotgun tee times all day. 6 hour pace
Slow pace, shotgunned tee times, a daryl strawberry lookin proshop employee that looks about 79. Lol he thinks being a smarta$$ is a good idea.
Great course but this is a terrible time out with their pace of play.
As always, great conditioned course with huge greens.
One of my Northbay favorites. Always in great condition.
First time play and it is a great course.
RSGC is in good condition and well managed. it is at the top of best public courses I have played. Interesting terrains and large greens. It’s very playable, not extremely difficult, yet certainly not boring. Scenery is wonderful on a Spring day. Highly recommended.
