Rancho Solano Golf Course

About
Rancho Solano Golf Course sits midway between San Francisco and Sacramento, a location that makes it easily accessible from all the cities in the Bay Area. The course sprawls across hilly terrain, providing the layout with elevated tees and dramatically undulating greens. It is a tough course to walk but it's possible. Sparkling lakes dot the hills, coming into play on a few holes. There are also numerous strategically placed bunkers to contend with. The expansive greens offer some room for error but pin placement is still important. The first three holes on the back nine are some of Rancho Solano Golf Course's most challenging, especially the par-4 11th hole. Club selection is the key to this hole or you might lose your ball to the lake and even once you do seemingly reach safety, there are still bunkers backing the large green.

First Time
I had heard a lot about Rancho Solano. It met my expectations and I like to local flavor. I was a single and joined a threesome. I walked the course, and the walk was challenging, but I have no regrets.
Top tier course
This isn’t exceptional muni Cousteau !!! Beautifully maintained, challenging, but reasonably priced..
This course is over-rated
What a crappy course. Staff sucks. Course conditions are pretty subpar. The design of the course is just okay. The grass they use is trash. Takes freaking forever to play a round. 5 hours plus on a weekday. Never going back.
Pure, Incredible Value
Conditions: 9/10 pure, well maintained
Layout: Fun, a bit challenging but can be enjoyed by any skill level. A lot of dog leg lefts
Greens: fast, much faster than they appear, in excellent shape. Massive greens will set you up for a difficult 2-putt
Value: Amazing, played for $36 with cart
Would i play again? Yes, I’ll be back
My first time ever playing a 5+hour round
You guys need a course marshall out there to enforce speeding things up. Especially with a twosome that’s slowing things up!!!!!!
Pure
First time playing this course this morning, and everything was pure. The tee boxes, fairways, rough, and greens, everything was pure! The greens were massive and challenging, definitely was worth the money! Will be back soon.
Great golf but needs more marshaling
Everything was great except that there was a 2-some in front of us who were just ridiculous about waiting for the 4-some in front of them. Like waiting until they got off the greens before hitting 2nd shot on Par-5 except from all appearances, the guys on the green were more than safe. Slowed the round by an hour at least which made us quite frustrated and angry.
Great time
I've played Rancho Solano more then a dozen times in the last couple of year's.
The course has never disappointed me. Always in great shape and well maintained.
Beautiful Course Fast Greens
I was told by the starter to try to stay below the hole when I got to the greens. I didn’t and I ended up finding out just how fast the greens are. Multiple times I ended up putting three times. The course is beautiful, very well maintained, very nice layout, but you’ll need to get used to putting on really fast greens. Definitely a course to play again.
