The course is in good condition and is fun to play. It is flat and if you are able a easy walk.

The greens are always in great shape. I find them moderately fast others may not. They only problem with this course is the wind. The course is in the middle of flat farm land and though the course has plenty of trees the wind kicks up and can blow very strong.

This is a very straight foreword, and bleak golf course.

Each hole resembles the next. For the price, you cannot beat it though. The locals I played with said it gets so windy to the point it's almost unplayable, but I think that is part of the game. I got an insanely low discount rate for the next day of $15 for 18 holes, so I cannot complain too much. But usually, I thought I remembered, that all golfnow golf courses have an aeration logo on the tee time when the greens are aerated. The greens on this day were heavily sanded, and it would have been nice if I had known what to expect before the drive out there. The rest of the course resembled the same on the fairways, and dirt patches everywhere. There are some challenging long holes, but very straight forward "grip and rip" type of golf made it fun. I hit a few drives over 300yds as I got a lot of roll down the fairway. FUN But the staff is great, the locals are very friendly and laid back with a military presense, and you cannot beat the price (not a bad driving range). The conditions were just not what they could be with a nice municipal style layout. I just think it could be better kept.

Long even from the whites

Very long and many long doglegs. Will be difficult for the first time since there are are ponds/lakes/creeks all over the place.
Very challenging. 3rd time played here and the par 4's are many over 400 yards especially on the back 9.

awsome course

Cypress Lakes is a very enjoyable course. It has its challenges and obstacles. The grounds are maintained well. The majority of the holes are par 4. The front 9 was challenging and the back 9 was more forgiving with wider fairways then the front. I really like this course and recommend t his course to all.

Great bargain

The course is Federal property built and maintained for the nearby Air Base. It was in very good shape and most folks there were very friendly. The price was very reasonable and the course was in good shape. Its very flat and wide but provides enough challenges if you don't hit the ball straight. I can see how the area may be too hot to play in the summer months unless you play early. My partners and I plan on returning for additional play. Better than many more expensive courses.

Enjoyed it !!

Got there early, greeted very friendly, was able to
get out 30 minutes before my time.. Course was wide
open... little windy, but encouraged me to play smart, and
try different shots... would happily play again, especially for
the price... and I drove 90 minutes to play...

Good place for beginners like myself.

Most of the fairways were wide open, a couple of wicked holes with water on both sides, with a lot of (MY) golf balls in there!

My nephew and I had a good time, biggest draw back is that the wind can pick up in a hurry.

Greens are in great shape. Flat course but windy most of

Great value for interesting course.

This course has a lot of doglegs that require you to shape your tee shot or cut the corner. It's in good condition, the bunkers are well maintained with plenty of sand. Great course for the price.

Course has a good layout.

Wind was gusting at 25-30 mph and staff had us go out on back side and when we finished , they wanted us to play same side again due to the fact they had a high school match going out on front side...said they should have let us on the front side to begin with..so not a good experience due to that and the wind...but would like to play it again ( both sides ) in less wind..challenging par 4's...

As the Wind Blows

The Cypress Lakes course was very well maintained with good fairways and very good greens. The course plays differently depending on the winds. The front nine is moderate in difficulty but the bask nine is a real challenge, especially the last three holes. I will play there again.

The Greens were the best.

I'm a senior, the course is quite long from the white tees for me. Recommend the gold tees be adjusted to be more friendly. i.e. the 18 par 4 is 425 yards from the whites and 412 yards from the gold. I also belive the slope differance between the white and gold tees is too much.

Great greens with character, OK fairways.

A lot of people think this is still a private military course. It is open to the public with lower rates given to active duty, retired and all vets. It could be a jewel with just a little more care. They do a great maintenence job with a very limited staff. It needs a manicure, especially off the fairways. Doesn't drain very well after a storm, can be difficult in the wind (if it's windy anywhere in the delta, it will be blowing hard here. Play early before it really blows). The greens are large and run true with a bit of speed (probably around 10). If you're betting your buddy, look out for the last three holes. Kinda of like Amen Corner.
