Busy place
Lot going on Tough to park, hitting balls was difficult. With no gps system, no idea where to hit the ball. Lots of dog legs,
If ball goes in rough, good luck finding it. Very different course.
Keep it in the fairway
The rough is deep and hard to find your ball even 10 feet off the fairway ! Course was in very good shape. Restaurant bar area was great after the round ! Enjoy !
Great layout, but rough too punitive
I enjoyed my round; great course design with amazing views and elevations. Greens were tough, but fair.
My only beef is that the rough was far too punitive. They were cut to 4 to 8 inches, so golf balls just disappeared in the rough. We wasted a good deal of time looking for balls that were "lost in plain sight". Some were no more than 6 feet off of the fairway. Not fun. PLEASE trim the rough to reasonable heights and we'll be back!
far too slow , let too many people on
they had stacked the course front and back and allowed five balls , pace of play was painstaking on slow , we left after 12 holes .
staff were nice and course is good - but do not play here unless you enjoy 5 hour stupidly slow games .
Fun course with lots of character
Arrived at bag drop and was met by the cart attendant. Not sure what his deal was but he seemed extremely unhappy to be at work. Asked a simple question and got an answer in a way that absolutely showed he wasn’t in a good mood. Went into the pro shop and the guy that helped me was looking at me standing there and didn’t say a word. Not sure what was up with the 2 people I encountered but definitely wasn’t a welcoming feeling. Grabbed a cart and headed to the tee box. Tee boxes were in good shape, fairways and greens as well. Beautiful layout, definitely makes you feel outside of Florida. Reminds me of my home course Adena CC here in Ocala. Rough was insane. You would have thought there was a US Open qualifier being held. 1 foot off the fairway and the ball was gone. Although i play tournaments and can handle it somewhat the weekend golfer shouldn’t be dealing with that. We want more people playing golf not running from it because they were miserable. The 2 guys I played with said they live close and will never play again which isn’t good. I drove from an hour away and will play again but not anytime soon. Course has tremendous character. Will play again and hope to have a better interaction with team members at CN. B+
Extreme Rough
Loved the course, didn't love the overgrown rough ! We lost a few balls because we couldn't find our golf balls and most were within 15 feet of the fairways !
JJ
Course is in impeccable condition loved the elevation changes. Greens were true and speed was very manageable.
I plan to play there again very soon
Hole Maps Would be Helpful
as a first time player on this course the lack of a map of the holes lead to many additional shots as we had no idea where the fairways were. Not that much to add something to the scorecard.
Challenging Course
Pretty good value for the money overall. However, I found this course to be way too penal for small misses. The severe slopes and sometimes blind shots make this layout tough enough. The first cut of rough your ball will be buried and very difficult to hit out of. The second cut of rough you'll be lucky to find your ball. Greens and fairways were in great shape.
Not your typical FL layout
A very hilly and challenging course. Blind uphill and downhill shots, big elevation changes, sloped fairways and green complexes. The fairways are good and the greens are better than when I last played it. It’s a little expensive for what it is, but you’re paying for the unique scenery and layout. They have a very popular trackman range that’s nice to warm up on, with food and drinks available. Definitely a must see if you want a change of pace.
Speaking of pace, this is my only complaint. For some reason they start players on the front and back in the morning. I was on the #1 tee box at 11:55 for my noon tee time, and we had to wait for TWO foursomes that had just made the turn. 20 minutes at least. There has to be a better system.
Also, maybe a taller net on the left side of the range would be good. If you hit in the right rough on #1 finding your ball is like a needle in a haystack among all the range balls. There were range balls in the fairway on my first trip there.
Central Florida Gem
The course is an absolute gem in Central Florida. The typography is unlike any other course in the area, and makes for a challenging round. If you have not played it, I would definitely add it to your list.
Fun Course
Great layout with lots of elevation changes. The greens were outstanding.
