Hole 3 Photo submitted by ashergolf on 02/12/2024
Quirky, Challenging and over priced
The course appears to have been renovated and some of the holes are goofy. Lots of uneven lies. There are large areas that at first appear to be waste bunkers but then appear to be drainage collection areas. The greens and fairways are in good condition. The staff in general were nice. However i accidentally left my score card holder in the men’s room in there restaurant and no one answered the phone or returned the message I left.
This a $75 course at best.
Great views 👏
Great lay out. 4 stays due probably dormant grass made it a little scruffy. Bet awesome in the sping.
Lots of Elevation Changes
Hilly conditions made for an interesting round. Fun to play a course that was not typical Florida flat, sand, water. We were in Florida for a month and played it 3 times, as it was a course we would choose to bring friends who were visiting.
Clermont National
Not your typical Florida golf. We were surprised by the changing elevations throughout the course. Very good conditions and a very interesting layout. We'll book it again next year!
I’ll be back
Pretty great course. Interesting elevation changes and views while playing you don’t get at ment other courses in Florida. Cant beat the amenities, friendly staff and good food/drinks. Only issue for us was pace of play which seems to be the norm in the area currently. Overall fun track, I’ll be back.
Worth a Try
The course had nice elevation and layout. The only issue was speed of the greens -- very slow. Maybe the drought had something to do with it.
The View restaurant was very nice but as of 4:30 PM they were still serving the food that had been sitting out since lunch so I passed and got a burger, which was good.
The cart girl was super cool.
Gem in the middle of the state
When you think of Florida golf, you expect flat or a slight rise or fall…not here. With steep drops of over 40 ft , to up hill holes of 50-75 ft.
Reminds me of western North Carolina golf. It’s a course that’s completely different than the normal Florida courses. It’s worth the play.
Nice layout
Course has great amenities and practice area; course is coming along nicely give it another year or so and will be great
A Bit Overrated
I think this course deserves about 3 1/2 stars, not 4 stars as it appears to be rated. There is no GPS and there was no water in the water stations. The recourse was in pretty good condition. and there are some elevation changes. The driving range has shade, and the restaurant looks nice.
Hidden Gem
Course would have been 5 star but plying mid January no course is really 5 star. Awesome topography and great greens. Bar inside and driving range is perfection.
Not Great, but Not Horrible
I hadn’t been here for several months, but yesterday was not a good day on this course. Overall, it seems like they’re starting to go downhill a bit. I say that because the Greens used to be much better, but are starting to look a bit rough. The bunkers are also looking rough, as they’re not raked, the sand is clumpy and many edges around the bunkers are collapsing in on the bunkers. The tee boxes and fairways were good. We also were stuck playing behind some really slow people who made it difficult to play through and was backing up EVERYONE. We eventually called the pro shop and they apparently had multiple calls already about the slow players and sent someone, however, there should’ve been a Marshall checking to keep the pace moving on a busy day. Then the cart girl ran out of a ton of drinks (understandable) but said she was going to refill. When she came back she did refill, but forgot Tito’s, lol. Lastly when we went to eat, the waitress didn’t seem to know much about the menu or drinks menu. Then she brought our food in a to go bag and boxes by mistake. There were a few other things too, but I’ve said enough. The server we had before our round at noon was a rockstar. The place is a really cool spot, but it seems to be going in the wrong direction from where it started.
Elevation Changes
I took my (2) sons as one of them had his 21st birthday, and one of their friends joined us as the 4th.
I had golfed this course decades ago well before it was Clermont National. I did remember that the course had many elevation changes as it's in one of the hilly parts of Clermont. Course was in good shape, but the winter rates are a little steep. Would probably golf here again, but will need to wait until prices drop.
