Great layout!
Fairways were thin but due to not over seeding this year due to weather. Will definitely go back when fairways come in good.
wet
played this course in December and last year and loved it. today after talking it up to my wife was apologizing to her the whole round for the bad conditions. staff very friendly but course was very wet and they do not overseed. greens very fast and roled well but no grass painted dirt. they have 3 nine whole courses Piper was the wetist bay was in best shape of 3. will not play again this trip.
Course Conditions Beginning to Deteriorate
We have played Sand Piper Bay many times and love the course. This time, we noticed the cart paths are cracking up, the fairway grass is flat, and the entire course was wet. They made no mention of cart path - only on any holes, but several were unplayable. I know it is mid-February, but they should respect their course better than that.
Wet
Normally, I'd give this course a hardy recommendation but numerous areas of the fairways were wet or just about mud. Greens were unrecognizable (paint?) and extremely fast. Been playing this course for years and I was disappointed......but I'll come back again.
Loved the fast greens. In all fairness to the course it had rained heavily the night before so it was extremely wet.
Wait for spring
As with most courses now, fairways are asleep waiting for warmer temps to grow, greens were soft lightning fast and needed a break to recover, traps were excellent and Tee boxes were over played with spotty grass. If you're just out to play, go for it otherwise don't expect above average conditions.
Busy day at Sandpiper
Good set up with great practice facility free range balls and large practice green. Course was in fair shape for this time of the year and in spite of it being busy the starter kept things moving
Wet conditions
We found the course very wet both on Bay and Sand side. Most of this relates to weather conditions experienced.
nice coarse
love this coarse, little wet,but there has been lots of rain. look forward to playing this coarse every couple of weeks
Great Course For the $$$
Very friendly staff. The course was still wet from the previous rain but it was only cart path only on the back 9. Fast greens (we are out of towners and I guess this is the norm) that took a while getting used to. I'm betting this course is absolutely beautiful in the summer.
January Golf
Course was not over seeded so the fairways were tight. Played long was wet cool. Good condition for time of the year
Fun to play
We played the Sand & Piper courses today. Both courses were in excellent condition with greens rolling fast. Sandpiper Bay continues to be one of our favorite "return-to" courses.
course is long
lots of water, some long pare 4s,bag drop and cart location kind of weird.
Great value
We played in December. It's not Augusta but we were pleasantly surprised at the condition of the course! Not particularly challenging but it had a few holes that were interesting. Overall, fun round and we'll return!
