Best course in Ocean Isle area
Unseasonably cold and windy, very few people playing. Played 18 holes in 3 hours 15 minutes. Greens were excellent as always.
Course does not drain
Played piper and bay nines two days after it rained, and it was cart path only, and the cart paths are a long way from the fairway. Wasn't sure the cart would get thru the path in few spots the water was so high two days after the rain. Many puddles in the fairways, lift clean and place all day long. I am a fan of Dan Maples designs, and sandpiper bay is no different, a good design, but unfortunately with terrible drainage.
Played the Piper and Bay nines. The staff was friendly and accommodating from the pro shop, bag attendant, and starter. Range balls were included. Range is not very wide, but there is a nice chipping area and separate putting green. The course is solid. Mix of doglegs, shorter and longer holes, and good par 3s. They dye the greens for winter play, but the greens roll true and were at a good speed. Fairways, tees, and bunkers all in good shape. Will definitely return. A pleasure to play!
Great course
The greens are in great shape and fast.
Will play it again.

Good deal
All the course was in a great shape and the greens very interestingé wide fast and a bit ondulated. I hope to play it again for the same price.
Fun!
Our first visit to this area and picked this out of the hat. The check in was quick, the starter friendly, and I tipped the bag man $5. I am a 14 handicap,my wife is a beginner. We usually play one ball with alternating shots. The greens were rolling true, the fairways were starting to become dormant. Tees were level. Very little traffic. Finished in less than 3:45. Enjoyable time , great people.
The course was in good condition
This is the third time playing Bay this fall. We enjoyed playing this course along with Piper. Pace of play is reasonable considering the number of players. I would recommend Sandpiper bay!!
