About
Set across 300 acres of lush Carolina Lowcountry, Hilton Head National Golf Club has earned its reputation as one of the region’s premier public courses.
A unique collaboration between golf legends Gary Player and Bobby Weed, the course offers two distinct nines that complement each other beautifully. Weed designed the front nine with larger, more dramatically contoured greens to contrast and balance Player’s strategically crafted back nine.
Among the most memorable holes is the challenging par-4 sixth — bordered along its entire right side by the course’s largest lake and protected by deep pot bunkers near the green. The back nine features several standout holes, including the long and demanding 16th, which ranks as the No. 1 handicap hole for women and No. 5 for men. And finishing strong, the par-4 eighteenth tests precision with a deep marsh running the length of the narrow fairway.
Together, these elements create a course that’s scenic, strategic, and rewarding for players of all skill levels.

Absolutely Superb
On a beautiful cool sunny day, this wasvthe place to be. The best of the best. Spectacular course, amazing greens, an excellent pace of play, we never saw others through 18 devine holes.

Nice Round
Had a nice time at HH National.Just got off the plane and headed to the first tee,so took me a few holes to get into a groove,but really enjoyed ourselves.

3 Rambling Golfers review
Got "Hot Deal" on Golf Now that made this play a good bargain. HH National always seems to be a good play and today was no exception. We had the whole course to ourselves.

Great conditions and value
Nice course. Very well conditioned. Good variety to the course. Pace of play was quick, played 18 in a little over 3 hours.

Very enjoyable experience
The staff was very friendly and helpful since this was my first time playing the course. They provided more tips than just ‘hit it straight’. Loved the layout and the pace of play was good even though it was busy when I played.

Amazing condition
The course was in amazing condition.
Fairways, rough, bunkers, greens, and even the wooded areas! lol

Can't go wrong
Had my annual guys trip the week for Oct 21 to the 25th and Hilton Head National was course #3 we played. All 8 golfers agreed that this was tied with RTJ at Palmetto Dunes for best overall course. The price made it the best value. Condition was great and the time of play was much better that Palmetto Dunes. It was a fair course for the whole group as it was fair off the tee and if you put the ball in the fairway as usual you had a better day. Greens were quick but not crazy. Enjoyed it so much that My Wife and I had guests down during Veterans day weekend and brought them over to Hilton Head National to play and our guest fully enjoyed the course and the round and the pace of play was great 3:40 minutes, as we got out earlier than the later crowd looking to play in the warmer part of the day. They also were gracious to charge them as guests since my Wife and I had just become residents in Hilton Head.

Hilton Head National is a very worthwhile trip
My wife and I played this course. The layout was very well designed and very fair. We thoroughly enjoyed our round. The golf carts are equipped with GPS with measurements to the pin. The greens were in great shape. I would highly recommend playing here!

Much better than I expected!
I really enjoyed the course. The course is challenging but not too difficult. It was in great shape for late November. It wasn’t crowded and the pace of play was very good. The course exceeded my expectations. It is one of the nicest courses in the Hilton Head area.

Even after several days of rain the course was excellent. Love the layout and that the wind kept the players away :-)

Course was fine in all respects.
I have a concern/request for reimbursement.
In error I was charged a convenience booking fee of $26.74 twice.
Staff at HHN were unable to reimburse me and suggested I contact GolfNow for reimbursement.
I am requesting that you do so now. I have proof of the double charge which I will send to GolfNow upon request.

Very solid
Beautiful layout with free range turkeys and Fox squirrels and deer (and gators too)!
Fair course with nice mix of risk reward holes and holes for scoring if you hit them straight.
Staff is top notch and gives the kind of Southern hospitality you’d expect but don’t always find at Hilton Head courses.
Will play again and bring my family.
National and Oyster Reef are now my two favs to play on the island.

1st Impressions
First time playing this course. Received an excellent Hot Deal on GolfNow. Course is BEAUTIFUL. Great conditions, well manicured. Challenging design with unexpected elevation changes and well bunkered. Greens were VERY fast. Plan to play again with another Hot Deal. Staff was polite and friendly.
