About
Set across 300 acres of lush Carolina Lowcountry, Hilton Head National Golf Club has earned its reputation as one of the region’s premier public courses.
A unique collaboration between golf legends Gary Player and Bobby Weed, the course offers two distinct nines that complement each other beautifully. Weed designed the front nine with larger, more dramatically contoured greens to contrast and balance Player’s strategically crafted back nine.
Among the most memorable holes is the challenging par-4 sixth — bordered along its entire right side by the course’s largest lake and protected by deep pot bunkers near the green. The back nine features several standout holes, including the long and demanding 16th, which ranks as the No. 1 handicap hole for women and No. 5 for men. And finishing strong, the par-4 eighteenth tests precision with a deep marsh running the length of the narrow fairway.
Together, these elements create a course that’s scenic, strategic, and rewarding for players of all skill levels.

Excellent Course - will play again!
Everything about the course was great! The layout was tough but not too demanding. The GPS on the carts was awesome. The staff were great and very accommodating. We played the round in about 3 and a half hours which was perfect.

Some construction on 10 but no big. Greens rolled fast and true. Fairways great lies. Tee boxes some a little sprarce For a huge storm rolled in last night took some trees down, some courses were probably closed. HHNATIONAL was open and playable. CPO was fine. Very humid day. Overall nice round.

We visit HHI often and play many of the course. With exception of staff who handled our clubs before and after the round, staff at Hilton Head Nat’l was not welcoming and condescending.

Nice driving range
I will NEVER play this course again. Golf is supposed to be fun but this course is no fun to play. The course was set up for tournament play. Why a resort course would do that on a Monday is beyond me. The driving range was nice though.

Fun track
Course was in good condition. I got an aerofication notice when I booked but there was no issue — greens punched a month ago at this point and rolling smooth. I bet in another 1-2 weeks they’ll be perfect.

Very Nice!
My first time playing this course and was very happy with the overall experience. Greens were recently aerated and were a little sandy still but they were smooth, fast and in good shape. Course has large fairways and several long par 4's. I played the blue tees and had several approach shots to the green of 150 to 180 yds. Course has some contours too it but I wouldn't call it hilly or mogully. Overall it is neat, clean and well cared for. A little pricey for a hot deal but worth it. Will play it again.

Great looking course!
Bag drop informed us that parts of the course was under construction, however there were no issues playing whatsoever. The course looked excellent and well manicured. Very informing and friendly staff. We will definitely be back in the future!

Hilton Head National
Had a great time. Course is in good shape and pace of play was excellent. We finished in 3.5 hours.We played in the afternoon so for the money it was well worth it.

Great course for the money!
Hilton Head National was fantastic. The course is amazing shape and the layout was fantastic. It reminds me of TPC Tampa. It was definitley the best course i played while in Hilton Head and made the Shipyard and Rosehill look like goat ranches. i'll definitley be back when i'm in town!

Nice round
Pins put on some humps. Greens were very quick. Course little dry. Construction on #10 kinda ruins the feel. Can't do much about. Overall nice day.
