About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business in Apr 2018.
Villa de Paz Golf Course was voted the top affordable 18-hole course in the Valley of the Sun, according to the Arizona Republic. The parkland course challenges top golfers, though it's not so difficult that beginners will wish they'd golfed elsewhere. After a 2002 remodel, the par-71 course measures 6,700 yards and offers water on 10 holes. If Phoenix in summertime intimidates, fear not: at Villa de Paz Golf Course, shade abounds, due to mature trees lining several fairways. Shoot for birdies or eagles, do so, but wisely. Reward has risk. Shooting sharply is especially required on holes like the fourth, a par-4 450-yarder with a severe right dogleg. Hitters dig the seventh, eighth and 15th, par 4s that can be nailed from the tee. The 18th mixes distance and skill. The par-4 470-yarder doglegs right and requires a carry over a lake to reach the three-tiered green. Fancy a warm-up before the Villa de Paz Golf Course? Use the handy practice area, with its range, two-tiered hitting zones and highlighted target areas at different yardages so you can check your length -- and the wind.

Course in poor condition
Greens were ok. Fairways rough, tee boxes rough. Area (housing around course) a little rough which the course has no control.
Water the fair ways and make rough desert scape!
Dont play here on weekends
Walked off after 3 hours and only on the 11th green - was going to take 5 plus hours on a short course with little difficulty. No marshal.
Greens were very bumpy. Fairways were good - rough was hardpan or dirt.
Lots of beginners on this course, the price attracts them.
Courage average
Course very fun to play Course priced good including lunch special for fair conditions of course. Tee boxes a bit rough and greens are fair condition but fast on this day.
Not pebble beach but we had fun!
Staff were friendly and got us out a little early to complete round. Took some beginner golfers. Not pebble beach by any stretch but what do ya expect for $25. Fairways were fine but rough was hard pan. Greens were generally OK. Four cats on fairway on 12 hole and one cat curled tail around golf ball. However moved quickly at the sight of the 9 iron. Don't try and get your ball out of a yard or the Rottweiler will speak with you. Shouldn't have hit the ball in the yard in the first place! Hit a goose standing at the edge of the green. Neither Golf ball nor goose were hurt! Beginner golfer took his first birdie! Staff very accommodating and very good. Concrete cart paths thus no problem with dust. Pace was fine. We had fun despite!
I would recommend for beginners who want reasonably cheap golf but not for avid/serious golfers.
Course is good.
We were foursome following foursome also with slow pace especially at Hole number 4, half of the fairway turn abruptly 90 degrees to the right over water to the green, which is challenging.
Course was fun
Great price, lunch included, staff always friendly course in good shape
ok for the money
This course used to be really nice but all the other reviewers also describe it as run down. This time of year you get what you pay for. The greens were good, lots of bare spots in the fairways. I paired up with some nice local guys that play the course often so they gave me a few lay up tips which you need due to the water
Snowbird
Fairways needed some extra care. Staff very helpful, tee times were available.
Good Value in a run down neighborhood
The title says it all. Most houses around course are run down. Landscaping not kept up, junk in backyard etc. Course and staff I have no complaints.
nice course
the course was in good shape, some fun greens. the rate of play was slow and no one there to speed it up.
Fare price.
best value in years
this course is an excellent test of golf for all different handicaps. par 3s are very good. only problems too many ducks messing around greens.the staff made us feel welcome will play again
excellent value
Course in pretty good shape and good value. Only issue we had was the starter should wait until the group on first hole are at least putting if not finished putting before sending out next group to avoid 4 groups on one hole, Not a lot of fun waiting to hit shots especially at tee boxes with other group watching and waiting for you to hit but will definitely be back!
Not the best course in the area of Glendale
Computer was down, bathroom was under construction so had to use staff bathroom which was nasty, cart torn seat, duck poo on a couple of greens, no sand in bunkers just didn't meet my expectations at all.
This coarse is not to bad
The greens have to be better taken care of,there's to much duck waste on greens and need actual sand in sand traps instead of hard dirt
Real golfers go elsewhere!
Save your time and money and head somewhere else. Conditions were terrible. I'm surprised the place is operational.
Westside
Just a little muddy on fairways and duck droppings on the green
Good value
The course itself is in fair condition. Unfortunately the homes surrounding the course are in poor condition, which makes the course seem a little worse than it is.
If you're looking for a good value and are not super concerned with having beautiful scenery, this course will do the trick.
trash
Need to work on picking up the trash. I like the course but it was very trashy and exstreamly dirty.
Oldie Goldie
This course is in an older part or town and this is reflected in the layout and conditions. Parts of the course can be labeled shabby. Greens were in decent shape. Bunkers were firm sand with really rough edges. With a little maintenance it could be a fun layout, but there is little chance given the neighborhood.
reviewing our gol at villa de paz
I read a review from 2013 about dogs on the course. Well that is still true today. Our cart broke down on the 13 hole .They did get one out to us right a way . The course is in need of a lot of work ,it is really ran down. I mean cart trails exist every where, and i mean trails. the bathroom in the pro shop had no paper towels and was quite filithy. Some greens were in very good shape
