Villa de Paz Golf Course was voted the top affordable 18-hole course in the Valley of the Sun, according to the Arizona Republic. The parkland course challenges top golfers, though it's not so difficult that beginners will wish they'd golfed elsewhere. After a 2002 remodel, the par-71 course measures 6,700 yards and offers water on 10 holes. If Phoenix in summertime intimidates, fear not: at Villa de Paz Golf Course, shade abounds, due to mature trees lining several fairways. Shoot for birdies or eagles, do so, but wisely. Reward has risk. Shooting sharply is especially required on holes like the fourth, a par-4 450-yarder with a severe right dogleg. Hitters dig the seventh, eighth and 15th, par 4s that can be nailed from the tee. The 18th mixes distance and skill. The par-4 470-yarder doglegs right and requires a carry over a lake to reach the three-tiered green. Fancy a warm-up before the Villa de Paz Golf Course? Course is comong nicely just after overseeding, I paly often ans have been a members club
good for the time of year
Greens very slow but course in good shape for the time of the year.
No bad considering just finished overseedng
Staff was very friendly our cart stopped working and the course marshal gave us his rather than having us wait until they could get us a new one from the club house. The rough was tough to find your ball in even though it wasn't that long, the greens were shaggy because of the overseeding but we expected that. Enjoyed a 4 hour round no waiting or being pushed in the sun what more could a person ask for?
Carpet Like Greens
Fairways in pretty good shape but the greens were way to slow to putt on. It's too bad because there was plenty of full grass to manicure. Also, clean the swamps, I mean lakes!

Have been playing Villa De Paz for years. Great value, fairly challenging Course. Staff is always Friendly.

The golf course is in bad shape. .but the stalls were. Very. Friendly.
Garbage
The course conditions were abysmal. The rate of play was absolutely ridiculous. 3 separate groups had 3 golf carts and 5 players. I will never play the course again.
Will play when overseeding is done

Please water something!
Greens were scalped and bone dry. On #9 they put the pin between two grass-less, repair areas... REALLY?!?
And the whole front of that green had "grass". Rest of course was super dry and rock hard, great for long drives, but not for anything else.
great challenge
we had a great time, the pace was awesome and it seemed like we where the only ones out there on a Friday morning. When we hit the back 9 it seemed to get over run with singles but in all it was a great day..nice greens and fairways
Bad Greens
The course played well with a few bare spots. The only complaint I really have is the conditions of the greens. It was like putting on shag carpet.

Great value for the money
We were a threesome and the weather was hot with a good breeze. The course is in good shape and the greens were in very good condition.
Great Summer Deal
The course was in good shape for summer weather. Usually, during the Arizona summers, the courses with cheaper green fees are dried out. The fairways were green, and greens were in decent condition as well. The lunch staff lady was amazing (I didn't get her name, but she was amazing). She was super nice and quality of service was sky high. Great deal through GolfNow for a cart, 18 holes, and lunch for $23 per person after taxes and charges.

I have played this course many times, you have to hit the ball straight to score
fun, challenging course
Being new to golf I've learned that this course will help you find your swing.. talking about being more accurate.. .I love the challenge..
Not worth it
They are charging way to much for the course to be in bad shape. Greens are slow, inconsistent. Fairways are ok on about 4 holes out of 18. You can play much better courses for less, the same or about ten bucks more. Not worth it here. Spend your money on a course that is using what they charge to keep it up.
Stay in the middle
The course was green due to the fact they are dropping lots of water on it. Only 6181 from the middle tees, but you have to play from the short grass to give your self a chance to make pars and birdies.
