Formerly home to a turpentine plantation, the site now offers one of the most environmentally sensitive courses in northwest Florida, Kelly Plantation. The golf course sits along the shores of the Choctawhatchee Bay, sprawling across a waterfront landscape of towering trees and swampy bayous. The course features large, contoured greens and wide, manicured fairways that are in excellent condition but can also be tricky to navigate. The strategically placed hazards also require some careful maneuvering. In addition to being a challenging round, the golf course is also known for its stunning scenic appeal. Throughout the layout, golfers can enjoy panoramic views across the bay to the abundant magnolias and palmettos that are native to Florida's northwest region. For these reasons, Kelly Plantation has received high praise from publications such as Golf Digest and Golf Magazine.

Great course. Was in good condition even in February. Many tee boxes to choose from which can make the course really challenging. Only complaint was I couldn’t get a hot dog at the turn

Great for Winter Golf

Windy day did not detract from an excellent layout. This is winter golf so Bermuda is dormant. Fairways were very good for winter and tees have just been installed. They are perfect.

Enjoyable Round at KP

Play this course usually 3-5 times a year when In town. Course is always consistent and good to play. A nice combination of gettable and longer holes including a couple of nice holes with a Bay view. Several in-between paths to the holes snake through well landscaped low areas which add to the beach feel. Staff great and practice area very good. Recommend to anyone staying in the Destin area!

Being that it was a holiday, all of the courses in the area were quite full and the sheer volume of players caused a lot of congestion. When there is that many players in town, it's often either slow golf, or unfortunately, no golf. We would rather accommodate as many as we can.

Great course doesn’t live up to the hype

Pace of play was the biggest issue. I’d be willing to play the course again based on how scorable it was but other than that, it was not impressing compared to regatta bay which is less money

Great but slow

New tee boxes are nice and flat but markers wee sort of hard to determine the color. Used GPS to determine the correct one.

Slow pokes in front of us resulted In finishing in the dark. Took more than 4hrs and 25 minutes. Ranger did speed them up for a while but then they reverted.

5 Some was incredibly slow

There was a fivesome in front of us and had no interest in speeding up. Spoke with the Marshall who said they were members and was afraid to say anything to them.
