Kelly Plantation Golf Club

I have played this course several times. It has been rated best course in the area. I certainly agree. The fairways were perfect. Greens fast and true. The wind off the Bay makes for some challenging holes. You will not be disappointed.

Golf course staff were very friendly and professional. Practice areas are great. Course layout was amazing. Only downside were the greens still haven’t fully grown in from aeration, but they are very close to being excellent. They still played fair and fast. Only had issues with 2 greens being a little bumpy but I’d say 1-2 more weeks and they’ll be prime. Tee boxes and fairways were perfect. Overall I would give it a 4.5 out of 5 just because the greens were 90% of what they will be. Had plenty of places to refill cold water and food/beverage cart came by 3 times during our round. Definitely will play again and would for sure recommend to anyone looking for a scenic challenging course.

I have played Kelly Plantation many times and was less than impressed this go around. Course conditions were bad and the price we paid was the usual. Hopefully they get it worked out soon.

I’ll say that the practice area and course itself were in top notch shape for this time of year in Florida! That’s about it really. Not too big of a pro shop small amount of merchandise and you’d expect some more cart service than once for that price on a hot day. Pace was fine decent layout.

Greens were in great shape with good speed. Great layout. Challenging, but fair. Very playable with plenty of room off the tee but big misses will be punished. Second tee time and the pace of play was well under 4 hours. Will definitely be back next time I’m in the area.

On the morning I played there was heavy rain for 2 to 3 days be fore my tee time. The course was not only playable, there were only minor adjustments needed because the course recovered from the rain better than most courses that I have played. The practice area was top notch , there was a driving range, and multiple greens for putting, chipping, pitching and sand shots. Worth every penny spent for round. I have also played the Sandestin courses and Regatta Bay and this one is either 1 or 2 on my Destin course list

The place is just beautiful and course is really good, BUT.. the Pro-shop attendant was slightly rude at check-in and not helpful at all. I reserved a rental set and on website it said $75. He charged me $85 & I told him I reserved and was told on phone when confirming the res that was the cost. He said “well the website is wrong!” And charged me $85. Every other place I’ve rented clubs has always included a a sleeve of balls and sometimes other small things. Not here. For $199 for the round plus $85, it was not worth it. The practice has no tees, They tout the chilled basket of apples but if was just a bunch of tiny apples thrown into a dirty cooler. They don’t give complimentary bottles of water either. The ladies locker room has nothing except soap and paper towels. No, sunscreen, tissue or any supplies whatsoever which was quite surprising.

The bag and loading staff were wonderful.

It is such a gorgeous place and we were hoping for the experience to be a bit more servicing for the price paid.

Course layout is good. Greens were not in good shape due to aeration and very dry. Should have received a discount on fee. Golf rates too high.

From our greeting while dropping bags, to the pro shop men, to all the guys working outside and the drink cart lady, everyone was awesome. Nice, helpful, polite and friendly — all wanting to ensure a fun, fair round, with good speed of play. The layout is top tier — extremely well thought out and fair. We loved it.

We played 3 courses in 3 days. Kelly Plantation was the best course we played. It was in great shape and challenging enough to make you think about your shots.
