TPC Louisiana
About
TPC Louisiana is situated just 15 minutes from downtown New Orleans but you'll feel like you're at a private nature reserve. When the golf course opened in 2004, Golf Digest ranked it as the fourth best upscale public, course and GolfWeek consistently ranks it in their list of "Best Courses You Can Play." As part of the Audubon Golf Trail, it stretches across more than 250 acres of wetlands along the Mississippi River delta. The TPC Louisiana layout will challenge you with more than 100 strategically placed bunkers and water hazards on several holes. Five different sets of tees allow players of all skill levels to enjoy the course. The PGA Tour tees are the longest, measuring a whopping 7,400 yards. The golf course finishes with its signature hole. For your final test you'll face a tough par 5 with water along the entire right side.

Great layout
Good test of golf but fair
Greens firm and true
Great staff
Hot day, soggy conditions
Had a good round of golf even though the course was soaked from all the recent rain. Cart path only made a hot day tougher though. Still a great course with a layout that is not too difficult.
Call before you go
I was looking forward to playing this course and even though I had read some of these reviews, I was trying to take it with the grain of salt and hoped those were just bad days. After I had paid the $200 plus rate on my way to my cart I was told “ Oh yeah, We punched the greens last week and are aerating this week and it’s cart path only.”
Concerning service levels, the outside staff and pro shop guys were extremely helpful and personable. However, the cart staff and bar staff left me with a sour taste. I had some bottles of water with me so while I was ordering my $11 beer I asked if I could have a cooler for my waters and was told no because I did not buy those here and I was not allowed to bring my outside f&b to the course. Now, I have played some high end courses, and usually there are multiple amenities included, above and beyond just a cooler on my cart (usually with bottles of water already in them), but this felt more like the local gas station, and you have to buy some thing to get the key for the restroom.
Here we go again
Each time I think I am getting a bargain in playing this course I get rude awakening.
They aerated AND verti-cut the ENTIRE course.
Of course it's to get ready for the Zurich.
The tee boxes, the fairways, the fringes, the aprons and the greens all at the same time are aerated and verti-cut.
I know June is when courses do their greens but if you are going to do this they should have made us aware so we could make a choice to play under these condition or not.
Making a put was close to impossible.
Good Condition, fairly boring Course.
I'm not gonna say I did not Enjoy it. Conditions where very good, Staff was very friendly. But for what they are Charging non Residents the course does not have much Character. I could name 8 Better courses in Houston area alone for half the cost to play. If this was $125 green Fees I would say it was a solid Value. For Residents I guess it makes sense, but non Residents, don't travel to play this, not worth it IMO.
Best starter in the business
Of course the place is amazing but it the friendly staff that makes this the best place to golf in the Nola area. The starter is the best.
Greens deceptively slow
Nice day on the course, but for the price the starter could have been a little more enthusiastic and greens a little faster. The bunkers were not ideal for many were hard panned or fluffy. That said, it made it tougher and the course does not need that. Maybe later in the season would be a better time to play.
Pricey but Great
This course is highly rated for a reason. It’s a very nice, very well kept course. Hole layouts are challenging and the course was in excellent shape. It is winter time and the course was still pristine. Only complaint for me really is the non-resident price. I’m not sure I’d pay that price to go again, just because it’s so high. That being said I thoroughly enjoyed the course, not a single complaint from me aside from cost. If you are on the fence, play it.
Did a golf trip to New Orleans. Learned on the way that the south has been experiencing a drought… and it showed. Though the course conditions at TPC Louisiana were much better than the other courses I played, I am still not going to rate or comment on the course conditions. I am certain that given normal rainfall this course would be in pristine, tour-quality, condition.
Things I Liked
- For the rate you pay, you do get top quality customer service. Everyone was very welcoming and helpful.
- The layout is excellent. Every tee shot requires your full attention. And although there is room to miss, you don’t want to miss much.
- A 3some let me, walking single, play through. Thank you!
- Spotted 4 gators out on the course. That’s always fun.
Things I Did Not Like
- Maybe “not like” is harsh, but I was surprised by the greens. They were smaller (not small, but smaller) and less undulating than I expected.
- And maybe I just didn’t walk in the right areas, but I recall wishing there were a few more yardage markers out in the fairways.
Thing Important to Me
- This course is very walkable, so much so that I would recommend not taking a cart. It is such a beautiful course to walk.
- There is a branded ball marker.
- There were water coolers, with ice makers, out on the course.
Mystic Creek Experience Stay & Play Package
It specifically says on their website when you go to book that they were scheduled for aeration June 10-13 and to expect bumpy conditions through June 26th.
That's on you not the course.
Also that's not done "to get ready for the Zurich", they already played the Zurich this year
