About
Designed by Lloyd Clifton, Westchase winds through acres of lakes, conservation areas and forest. It offers manicured greens surrounded by natural wetlands, wooden bridges and bulkheads. With its 9,500 sq. ft. clubhouse, full-service dining room, and fully stocked pro shop, Westchase offers a country club atmosphere along with first-class service. The golf club has established itself as one of Tampa Bay's best upscale golf facilities. The front nine meander through an impressive pine forest. The back nine -- which is demanding on the tee shot -- features lakes, wetlands and cypress. Strategically placed bunkers, more sparkling lakes and stands of cypress, oak, palmetto and pine frame the fairways and greens. Signature Hole No. 3, at 212 yards from the back tee, is all you can handle -- It's a Par 3 all-carry over water from the back tee!

Disappointed
Pace of play was wild. This used to be such a solid place to play. Dry and rough shape. Hoping it changes my mind next time.
Must Play Local Course
This course is a very nice venue. It offers generous fairways with large greens, both which were in good condition. Staff is super friendly and very helpful. Pace of play was right at 4 hours for our foursome. Will return next year as this is one of the nicer courses I n the area.
Fun layout but...
Enjoy this course and will come back to play again but greens were a little beat up with alot of ball marks. Just that time of year with alot of rounds played but will always come back because it's a good challenge with forcing you to hit different shots & clubs off the tee (not always driver). Feel the slope rating maybe could be a little higher for the difficulty.
Extremely slow pace of play
Everything about this course was great besides the pace of plate. It was clear that they put pairings to close together. The group in front of us was playing well and we were playing well. I was on whole 14 and I was already 3.5 hours into the round.
Nice Course
Had fun - had to adjust teetime due to delay in flight. Staff was very accommodating. Course is tight, so play conservative. Greens were fine but can tell a lot of play. Lots of hallmarks. Had quick lunch before round. Nothing special but hit the spot. Could invest in cutting back vegetation especially par 3 17th hole. Open up course a little.
Enjoyable
Great layout that forces you to think off the tee and not just bomb it with driver off every tee box. Greens were a bit thin and has seen a lot of use, but it's still a worthwhile visit.
Pace of play
We started tee up at 10th hole. 2 player were on front of us but from 12th hole 5 players have played on front of us till 17th hole and they were very slow and we have waited every hole.That was very bad experience to us in such a good golf course.
Over priced!
Decent course layout, but this is the most overpriced course in Tampa by a mile. Don’t expect private course conditions even though that’s what they charge.

Supply & demand in Tampa
I don't play a lot in Florida, and never have before in Tampa, so I don't really know the value equation for daily fee golf. The course was in decent shape, just expected more overall for this kind of money. Water driving range, never loved them. Greens were pretty slow compared to bent up north but maybe this is central/SW Florida standard pace. We played super fast, which makes up for flaws in my book. Standard Florida housing everywhere, lots of water and sand, tight, etc.
Tough
The first thing happened is that the starter bullied us into starting 20 minutes early because he wanted to move more people onto the course. We never had a chance to warm up. The greens do not hold and are thin and sparse and bumpy from the amount of heavy play. The fairways are very nice. The overall layout is very difficult with Outabounds and water on every hole if you don’t hit the ball straight, don’t play there but again the starter was not a very friendly person and was more interested in grabbing people on the course than us enjoying ourselves.
Joe , the cart greeter / ambassador is a genuine great guy and extremely helpful !!
Great day of golf
A great service golf course. Staff is friendly and helpful. Tee times are managed well. Pairings are accommodated well.
Greens are always true. A well maintained facility.
Average course
The course is challenging, and the layout is good. The greens were bumpy and not very well developed. Just average would not overly recommend.
Westchase GC
We played Westchase GC last Sunday.
This golf course is certainly one of the nicest GC in Tampa Bay area, and for several reasons:
1/ As soon as you arrive, their crew is welcoming you very nicely
2/ The staff in the Pro-Shop is very professional and makes you feel at ease
3/ And this is the most important part:
3.1/ the course is beautifully designed, and almost all the holes are very challenging
3.2/ they did a lot of work recently on their bunkers
3.3/ the fairways are in exceptional condition
3.4/ even if the greens have a lot of marks they are really true
We have been playing many golf courses around Tampa Bay, but Westchase is certainly one of our favorites.
