About
Designed by Lloyd Clifton, Westchase winds through acres of lakes, conservation areas and forest. It offers manicured greens surrounded by natural wetlands, wooden bridges and bulkheads. With its 9,500 sq. ft. clubhouse, full-service dining room, and fully stocked pro shop, Westchase offers a country club atmosphere along with first-class service. The golf club has established itself as one of Tampa Bay's best upscale golf facilities. The front nine meander through an impressive pine forest. The back nine -- which is demanding on the tee shot -- features lakes, wetlands and cypress. Strategically placed bunkers, more sparkling lakes and stands of cypress, oak, palmetto and pine frame the fairways and greens. Signature Hole No. 3, at 212 yards from the back tee, is all you can handle -- It's a Par 3 all-carry over water from the back tee!

Course is in great condition
So due to the amount of play at most golf course in the area this time of year it’s challenging to keep the T box and green in good shape. Westchase was in amazing condition when compared to other course in Pinellas County. Play the greens short and let the ball roll. If you try to stick the green chance are the ball will roll off the green because they are hard and firm. Some fairways are tight so you might want to leave the big stick in the bag on some of the holes. I found out the hard way. Pace of play was extremely good for this time of year. Look forward to playing the course again.
Very Happy with it…
First time playing the course and to be honest I have no complaints at all. Pace of play was very good. The greens were healthy fast and true. I will definitely play this course again
Too slow. No ranger management of pace of play.
There was no apparent monitoring of pace of play. 3 and 4 groups stacked up on tees. Called staff and not that helpful.

Great layout, greens need work.
We played Westchase with visiting golfers from Chicago and were very pleased with the course design, fairways and even bunkers. However, we were disappointed with the greens that were a little bumpy and not up to the quality of the rest of the beautiful course.
Westchase experience
Westchase experience - Had a great time going on as a single golfer matching up with some really good people. Dave in the pro shop was excellent and very professional/friendly. Course layout and the challenge of the course was a lot of fun. Definitely a repeat course and a recommendation to other golfers and friends. Keep up the good work with WestChase.

Challenging
Started off with a very friendly greeting. Nice practice range (water range).
The course was a bit challenging for our 4-some. I personally lost a ton of balls. Some tight fairways and areas where the water snuck up on me.
That’s not the courses fault, it was my 1st time here.
Pace of play was good, although we were pushed by another group. We let them play through.
Turf was a bit thin. I don’t hit well off dirt.
Sand traps were hard and some seemed wet.?.?
And there are plenty of traps.
Greens were thin, hard packed and super fast.
They were fair and no crazy undulation. Just fast and little turf.
4 1/2+ hr round, not bad for a Wednesday afternoon.
All-in-all, I will go back. I will most definitely practice a few times before attaching this challenging course next round. Personal NOT my best round, at all.
Last, after the round, 6:00 pm the clubhouse and bathrooms were locked up. Ugh!!

just a real nice challenging golf course that us seniors enjoying playing . course in great shape.
Very tight
Great course, good selection of tees. Most of the course is very tight. Narrow fairways on the whole, water in play on several holes and a few doglegs. If you don't hit it straight, be prepared for a few doubles and more. I would question the slope ratings here!! Despite this, a great track and well worth a visit.
Deteriorated Expectations
Played course last year and it was in great shape, however we notice this year was not in the same shape. Poa annual was everywhere around greens. Greens were firm, ,difficult to hold mid-irons into green. The course just wasn't maintained at previous levels , and it's a shame.
Favorite course in the area
Other than a few bare spots on a few of the greens course was in very good shape. I just wish they had a marshal riding around to speed up slow golfers. Would definitely recommend this course
