Westchase Golf Club
About
Designed by Lloyd Clifton, Westchase winds through acres of lakes, conservation areas and forest. It offers manicured greens surrounded by natural wetlands, wooden bridges and bulkheads. With its 9,500 sq. ft. clubhouse, full-service dining room, and fully stocked pro shop, Westchase offers a country club atmosphere along with first-class service. The golf club has established itself as one of Tampa Bay's best upscale golf facilities. The front nine meander through an impressive pine forest. The back nine -- which is demanding on the tee shot -- features lakes, wetlands and cypress. Strategically placed bunkers, more sparkling lakes and stands of cypress, oak, palmetto and pine frame the fairways and greens. Signature Hole No. 3, at 212 yards from the back tee, is all you can handle -- It's a Par 3 all-carry over water from the back tee!

Great conditions and quick pace of play
Overall the course was in very good condition. Not a lot of folks playing as they were likely scared off by the rain. Course drained very well and we were able to play 18 holes in 3 hours
Beautiful and challenging course
Had a great time playing this course. Seemed like there was a water hazard on every hole. The greens were hard and fast which posed another challenge. Course is in great shape. Will definitely play again.
West chase golf
Fantastic setup and course the first course that had cut the rough! Fast pace, hard fast greens! Would highly recommend!
Great shape
It’s been a while since we got a tee time, we did and the course is in awesome condition.
Love how the rough is actually rough.
So stay away from it, lol
The fairways are like a carpet, and the greens are also great.
You would love it.

Course needs to dry up…it has not been mowed
I love west chase, it is one of my favorites in the Tampa area. The course got 6 inches of rain since Wednesday and was VERY wet and the fairways and rough have not been mowed since Tuesday. Greens are in good condition but everything needs mowed BAD. Hopefully will be done in the next couple of days but understand they cannot mow it yet, just made the round difficult finding golf balls when you hit a good shot. We had a certificate for 2 people for $20, had a foursome and the guy in the pro shop gave us all a $20 rounds so appreciate that. Give the course another 3-5 days or so to dry out and get mowed and it will be in very good condition!
Nice course. Tight fairways with blind shots
First time here and I beat myself up a little. Lost a sleeve on tee shots that I was unsure about. Next time I’ll know better conditions were very good and pace of play was fantastic. I had an 8:25 time got out 10 minutes early as a singly and made it around in 2 hours. Lucky for me I beat the rain. Would definitely recommend it.
Slowest pace I’ve ever played.
I’ve been lucky enough to play this course 5 times in the past 2 weeks. Love the layout, great conditions, and nice people. The only problem here is it takes forever to play 18, 6-7 hours is the norm, it’s terribly slow. I don’t understand how they let this happen, hire some Rangers, or spread out tee times, anything at all. It is the only reason that I will not buy a season pass here and will happily choose other courses. None of us have all day to sit around 15 minutes per hole waiting.
Plays way better than it looks
At first glance we thought the places looked like trash but the fairs and greens played really good. Will be sure to play here again. Also the golf now rate was significantly higher that the rate from the course. The person in the shop gave us the lower rate.
Disappointing, listed as top 10 courses to play in Tampa area
This course was disappointing ! Read the reviews and sounded promising., however was anything but enjoyable. Course conditions were fair noticeable crab grass in fairways. Greens were bumpy and patchy. Pace of play was UNBEARABLE and unacceptable! We will not be returning.
Solid all around
Generally good round and a fair condition. Sunday pins were in effect with some tough spots but within reason.
Enjoyable course with excellent staff
First time playing this course with a group of 8. From initial arrival at the course, the staff was extremely accommodating. One of our group members flight was delayed and got in an hour after tee time, the starter was very understanding and stored his bags for him when he arrived and drove him out to the group. The course itself was very fun and everyone enjoyed the round. For this time of year, the course was in good shape, just dry which is to be expected. Compared to other courses played this weekend, this course was the best. I would certainly play again. Thank you for starting our golf trip on such a high note.
Rain Out? Rain Check?
Just got back today Sunday May 31,2021 from Westchase. The manager of the course decided to close it down at 345 due to a little rain. Have no idea why. Played two holes, was on third when employee came up to us and told us they were closing the course. There was hardly any rain, no puddles, nothing. Nobody could understand why the course was cllosing. The rain stopped, sun came out as we packing up our clubs. Then they have the audacity to gives us part of our money back. Took off like 16$ for the holes we played instead of giving us a 18 hole rain check. And to top it off the greens that we played were pockmarked like the moon. Not a happy day. And no courses seem to plant rye grass in the winter anymore. Fairways bare, green surrounds bare. Overpriced golf course in my opinion and bad management.
Tough tract
This course is a very tight layout with rough that is impossible. Off fairway trees and underbrush are so thick that you hardly dare venturing off the fairy. We played on a windy day which made things more difficult.
It is nice
Not our first playing, it is a nice course, we live here in Fl so when it goes over 150 bucks for two we dont like it much.
This one was 172 bucks or so, but is worth it once in a while.
Pace of play was nice, even though the one that got pair up with us, decided to play from the tips, I have got a question? If you cant even reach the fairway, why then you play from the tips? Add to it, that your are going out of bounce or hitting the turf in front of you with your ball with the driver?
Anyways play to your skills , and you would have fun, just saying.
So just move it along, blame a bird or something and stop hitting 3 or more balls, you are holding up everyone, or take lessons.
Youtube videos is not where you get lessons from, that is a rabbit hole, find a teaching pro.
Just a free PSA, for lots of you out there..
