Slammer and Squire Golf Course at World Golf Village
About
World Golf Village is home to 36 challenging holes of championship golf. The Slammer & Squire Course is named after the two World Golf Hall of Fame legends, Sam Snead and Gene Sarazen, who served as consultants to the course's designer, Bobby Weed. The golf course is known for its tricky par-3 holes and the carefully preserved beauty of the landscape. Its traditional layout meanders through native flatwoods and hardwood hammocks, running alongside wetland preserves and a wildlife habitat. The scenic Slammer & Squire Course features contoured greens and gently rolling, generous fairways. There is also an abundance of water on the golf course in the forms of lakes and marshes.

Wait to play greens are shaggy
Great overall course just ruined by post airrated greens. They were like putting on shag carpet.
It's like showing up for a date meeting in person and you find out the pictures you seen of the person where 10 years ago and 50lbs lighter.
Great Course
Overall, Great!
The Slammer and Squire course is a fantastic layout with unique design features. Unfortunately we were rained out 2-3 holes after we made the turn. Not directly related to the course but I hope to see something done to utilize the facilities that were once the hall of fame areas. Again overall great course!
Will play again
When I first saw the rating of 3.4 I was reluctant to book. I am not sure what is driving that score, but this place was great. Its the best public course I have played in the Flagler/St Johns area. I paid $96 for a before-8 8a tee time; well worth it.
Note: that if you bring a young kid you will need to call ahead and pay a ride-along fee.
A couple temporary greens
Besides the two temp greens, course is in great shape
Great Course
Staff was phenomenal from arrival to check-in to finishing our round. Only two downfalls to the round was a few of the greens were rough to putt on. Partially dead. The other downfall was pace of play. Probably need to spread the tee times out a little more. We had to wait on a group in front of us due to a group in front of them and then the chain reaction continued behind us. Overall I think the course was fun and inviting.
First Timer
A couple of greens were beat up and well as some tee boxes. Besides those 4 things….Bice layout
Tuesday Morning
Greens on the front nine were in terrible condition I liked the course otherwise. Although I was very disappointed at check in I had a gift card that was partially used the previous week at King and Bear that they wouldn’t use this week and the staff member didn’t even try I would stay away until they get the greens get fixed
Avoid until conditions improve
Charged a resort fee not mentioned on GolfNow. Double charged for taxes. First green was all but unplayable, others had abnormal areas. Worst shape in which I’ve ever seen this course
I found the experience disappointing given the high cost. The pricing is absurdly expensive for the course's condition; the layout was lackluster and doesn't justify the steep investment.
The greens were inconsistent and did not provide the smooth putting experience expected at such a renowned destination, severely detracting from the enjoyment of the round.
I recommend spending a little more to play at Dye's Valley at Sawgrass instead, it offers a superior layout and better maintenance. Slammer & Squire left me underwhelmed and it wasn’t worth the visit.
Going downhill
I have played here in the past and the course was in terrific shape. Now, not so much. Granted April 5th was a company tournament, but if I had paid full price and gotten to the first hole green I would have immediately returned to the club house to ask for my money back. Unacceptable condition for a $150-$175 golf course. Hole one green isn’t the only green in bad shape either. The 2 restrooms on the course one on hole 6 and one on hole 15 are absolutely disgusting and look like they haven’t been cleaned in a year. Gross. Do better Slammer and Squire.
Herbal greens, Fairways, OK?
First off, the greens are absolutely horrible, Worst conditions of over 40 rounds this year in Florida. Over priced, slow play 5 hours, won’t be coming back anytime soon…would be ok if under $60
Great layout,Horrible greens!
Course payout is great, some nice target golf, unfortunately greens were in terrible condition, and the few that were good were so slow and fuzzy. Staff was great and practice area was very good.
Loved the course
Staff was absolutely lazy in every fashion, if I own this course I'd be upset of the help, may has well been self serve
Overrated
Greens were In terrible conditions for the price paid
