About
Stallion Mountain Golf Club is conveniently situated just minutes from the Strip, but this Las Vegas golf course feels much further away thanks to a scenic landscape of towering, mature pines and six sparkling lakes. Over the years the course has hosted several major events including Frank Sinatra's Celebrity Classic and Las Vegas Invitational. It has a versatile layout that offers plenty of variety and shot values, which makes it appealing for a range of different skill levels. The par 4s and par 5s require long, accurate drives but the approach shots will test your iron game. The golf course also features undulating fairways lined with bunkers and water hazards come into play on 10 holes. In addition to the golf course, Stallion Mountain boasts a comprehensive practice facility that includes a 16-acre driving range with 40 tees, five practice putting greens, two chipping greens, and two practice bunkers.

Course conditions
My son and I played and did have a fun time. However the bunkers were being worked on and all were played as lifts. Many of the fairways had recent damage as well. Lastly the greens were very patchy and inconsistent.
I wish I knew how the course was going to be prior to the round, cause I booked it again for Wednesday and not looking forward to it, given the shape of the course tee-to-green.
Disappointed
After reading few good reviews in spite of some bad comments, I decided to give the course benefit of the doubt and tried it today. For 79 dollars per person,I was shocked to see the course in such a disgraceful shape. All the bunkers were not playable and designated as ground under repair, the fairway were full of bare areas, if you don’t improve your lie, you’ll be hitting from hard pan risking injuries of you wrist. Riding golf cart on the fairway was also a thriller, very bumpy throughout the course, felt like hitting potholes and almost threw my wife off the cart. Overall,I’ll give one star rating because some golfers might enjoy improving their lies for the whole round.
Course in Excellent Condition
We were surprised in a good way that the course was in excellent condition. We had heard that they had let it get run down and this was as far from the truth that you could get. If it had not been for the windy day, it would have been perfect!

Awful conditions
All bunkers had zero sand in them and we were td to play them as ground under repair. They appear to have been that way for a long time. Also lots of dead patches in the fairways. It was very disappointing for a course with nice pro shop and bar facilities with friendly staff.

nothing special design wise, green was Ok. people ahead was really slow, bur=t see no marshall.

Enjoyed course but bunkers (traps for the locals ) need sand to have a chance

Has declined over the years...
We have golfed annually in Las Vegas every year for the last 19 years. At least 10 of those 19 years we have played Stallion Mountain. In the past, Stallion Mountain was a very well kept, reasonably price option. It has declined a lot over the last couple of years. We were very disappointed as we remember what the course use to be...In some areas very difficult to find grass to hit off of even in the middle of the fairways.
Stallion Mountain-las Vegas
The staff were awesome. The course was beautiful given the time of year. Bunker were under repair but other than that it was a perfect way to spend 3.5 hours.

Horrible Management
No sand in bunkers (for years now)
Greens are slow and bumpy
Worst part was the foursome in front of us was 2 holes behind and would not let us play through. We began getting notices on the GPS that we were behind and needed to keep up with the group ahead. We called the clubhouse and asked them to send someone out to get the group moving or let us play through. Their response was "GO AROUND THEM". Are you kidding? This is how you manage a golf course?
Move on
I don’t want to be harsh but it starts at the driving range, or dirt driving range. Terrible not maintained and every hitting station was more dirt than grass.
The course;
Fairway bunkers are more like hard dirt with weeds or maybe a potting plant for weeds. The fairways are hard and concrete I actually scrapped a new club hitting off the fairway as if I hit out of rocks or the cart path.
Staff;
The staff are amazing friendly and attentive the clubhouse is modern and the pro shop is nice.
In the end I would not golf here again and wouldn’t suggest you do either.
Winter conditions or wear & tear?
Overall condition of the course seemed like winter, but definite wear from carts in some areas makes me question if it isn't age catching up to the course.
