About
Stallion Mountain Golf Club is conveniently situated just minutes from the Strip, but this Las Vegas golf course feels much further away thanks to a scenic landscape of towering, mature pines and six sparkling lakes. Over the years the course has hosted several major events including Frank Sinatra's Celebrity Classic and Las Vegas Invitational. It has a versatile layout that offers plenty of variety and shot values, which makes it appealing for a range of different skill levels. The par 4s and par 5s require long, accurate drives but the approach shots will test your iron game. The golf course also features undulating fairways lined with bunkers and water hazards come into play on 10 holes. In addition to the golf course, Stallion Mountain boasts a comprehensive practice facility that includes a 16-acre driving range with 40 tees, five practice putting greens, two chipping greens, and two practice bunkers.

Felt robbed
Stallion Mountain? More like Donkey Hill…. This golf course was in such terrible shape, it’s as if it hasn’t been watered in a few years. Everything was dry/ dead. $55 to play this dump? I can’t believe they have the audacity to charge that much, this course should be worth $20 maximum. All bunkers were considered “ground under repair” and the greens were patchy, my cousin had to chip from the putting service to get his ball over a huge gouge in the green. I rate this course a 1 out of 10… absolute dog poop course, you’re better off playing PGA 2K21. I definitely will never return to that poor neglected golf course, save your money folks or go play Paiute.

Look else where
Nothing had been taken care of. No green grass anywhere and the greens were dry. Sand traps were not playable. They did not over seed last fall. Very poor conditions.

Course in very poor condition
Entire course was in terrible shape. Tee boxes and fairways were dry, brown and the poorest condition of any course every played. Told by starter that ALL of the bunkers were not playable, considered ground under repair. Course lacked water and adequate care needed to maintain a golf course. I would not recommend anyone waste their money booking a tee time; not even as a Hot Deal.

Horrible
The worse course conditions I've ever played. Looks as if they are ready to close the course any day. All grass areas were painted, if there was grass at all. Huge patches of dirt in fairways, bunkers have not been attended to in years it looks like (we were told in the pro shop "local rule, the bunkers are free drop areas". Absolutly horrible.
the course was in really bad shape. several greens had sand on them and were partially unputtable and the sand traps were unplayable/under construction so makes course less challenging. The rough was all completely dead grass. Many times hitting off hard pan. Would only utilize the course as a warm up due to cost.

Terrible condition
I've played this course numeruous times over the years. I typically take a vacation in the Spring. This is the worst condition this course has been in since I began playing the course about 10 yrs ago. The fairways have little grass and many bare spots. The greens were very hard and bumpy and the grass appeared dorment.

Not worth it…
The course was in horrible condition and the pace of play was like they tried to cram twice as many groups as there should have been. Wouldn’t pay $10 to come back under the same conditions.

Course seriously needs maintenance work
Like most of the other reviewers, we faced similar conditions with sand traps (all of them) as ground under repair, fairways that are nearly dirt and most greens painted dead grass (some even worse that also included goose damage). The course layout was nice and the staff were very friendly. This course is just not getting the maintenance needed to be keep it in desirable shape. Too bad since the course appears to have had a lot of good qualities when properly maintained.

All sand traps (lots of them too) are all ground under repair (NO SAND!). Dormant dry bermuda makes tough, tight lies and greens are painted greens. The staff and friendly Lady at the bar (Stacey?) were terrific! Very close to the airport and south end of the strip. The value was not bad if you just want to say you played golf.

What kind of grass is the fairway and rough? Also is the rough high and manageable or is it low?
Don't know what happened.
I have been playing this golf course once or twice a year during my annual visit to Las Vegas in February for the last 20 plus years. Most of the time I was satisfied with the course conditions. There occasionally was the off year due to unfoseen weather conditions or other issues that prevented the course from being in good playing condition. The golf course I played today was abismal at best. We were told at the 1st tee to take a drop from all bunkers as they were considered to be under repair. There literally is no sand in any of the bunkers. There is literally no grass growing in the fairways. And the greens don't appear to have been mowed or had any maintenance in some time. The 9th green appears to have about a 3rd of the grass missing and looks like it has been eaten by wild fowl. This is a good track when maintained. I hope there are plans in the works to resuscitate.
