Spring Break Trip Myrtle Beach National West
Very friendly course for beginners. My wife and I played here for our first trip to MB. Pace of play was nice. Four hours and ten minutes for 18. Better than I expected for this time of year. Wide fairways and beautiful greens. Nice layout as well. Recommend for anyone beginner to experienced.
Pleasent Round
Pretty easy course. Not much to the layout as long as you keep your tee shot out of the trees and the white tees were 6100 yards but felt shorter than that so you don't need a driver on a number of these holes. There's a little water but it's for show as it really doesn't come into play. All greens slope back to front so hitting even medium irons into the bent grass greens means your shots held nicely. Greens and fairways were in excellent shape for March. Great staff and off-course facilities. Enjoyable round but just not a great challenge for the price point even at MB.
Sea trail
Played two of the three courses today Reese Jones and Willard Byrd nice layouts not hard courses but challenging. The only negative for me is that there are no trash cans at tee offs or signs with yardage.
1977 replay
Played MBN for first time since 1977, when the complex was probably 4 or 5 years old. Course in generally good shape for late winter golf. Several bunkers not in great shape yet, and several of the greens looked like they might have had some nematode damage around their edges, but overall greens looked good and rolled fast and true. The overseeded fairways far better than the non- overseeded fairways I'm playing on my home course. Pro shop attendants were personable and welcoming. Played on a sunny but windy and cold day, but experience was still a positive one.. Would play again!!
Thought it was summer
Great Course conditions. Greens, fairways, rough. A few tees need some TLC but it’s only March. Well worth the drive from N Myrtle. Very enjoyable.
