Great course and fantastic staff. The sand traps on the west course needs sand added around the greens
The address for this course that is listed on the app is incorrect. Cost me extra $$$$ when my Uber driver and I finally figured out where the course was.
Nice course and staff.
Greens rolled well and were in good shape. Layout was playable and somewhat forgiving as large pines were cleaned out underneath for pitch outs if needed. I believe most courses in the area are very busy and close to 5 hours for 18 holes is close to a standard. Would play this course again or any one of the three courses at this location. Enjoyed the experience even with slower play.
Great experience.
Everything about this course was great. The staff, course layout, conditions. It was all great. No complaints here.
Great start with course
I/we play this course every time when in MB. It is one of the most playable courses you can find. It is fun and somewhat forgiving. Pace of play is mostly enjoyable. You can enjoy the course as you play it and your game will not suffer for it.
Best of the three MBN courses!
I've always enjoyed playing MBN West. My favorite of the three, and mainly because they seem to soak the approaches on both Kings North and South Creek. No so, on the West course in my opinion. A Lot of fun to play, short from Senior tees, but still challenging!
Enjoyable Course-Prime Times Rate
Course was in great shape especially for this time of year. Cart path only on just one hole. Fairways firm with roll, sand traps actually have sand and the greens I would rate at 90% good condition, and very fast.
I have played at MB National several times in the past year, but not on the West Course since 2015.
I don't know why I don't play it more often as I think it is a nice challenge for a mid level golfer (17 handicap) from the White Tees.
Bottom line, pick a nice day, play this course, I think you'll like the experience.
Disappointed the 2nd time around
Played this course last year and it was outstanding. This year was a different story. Course was in rough shape. On the 3rd or 4th hole my brother and I were walking to the green and he said something about them only mowing the front of the green. Ended up having about 7 or 8 greens that way and it was because they had laid new turf off the majority of the green. Of course they won’t tell you anything like that before hand when your booking the tee times..
west course
once again mb natl did not dissapoint...the west course we played and the greens and fairways were in excellent condition. i recommend the west course as you get superb conditions and a fun course to play without paying the kings north price.
Nice course, slow pace of play
Played this course during my spring break. I enjoyed the layout and there were some challenging holes. However, pace of play was very slow at times and even after talking to the ranger, nothing changed. Maybe it was just crowded that day but overall it was a good course.
MBN West
Course was in good shape and the greens were in excellent shape played in under 4 hers.
Enjoyable round
I played this course last time I visited Myrtle Beach as it was recommended to me nothing has changed still a must play course when I visit
It was in similar condition to King's North, but not quite as well kept because it looks like it gets much more play. Greens not quite as quick. Traps had a different , firmer, darker type of sand. Much less trouble (water, sand, etc.) to get into.
A good course for higher handicappers. You'll get the feel of a high end, well manicured course without the forced carries and difficulties of the much, much, much more difficult King's North course on the same property.
Count on MB Natl for good conditions
Played all 3 MB Nat'l courses dozens of times over 20 years of going to Myrtle Beach. The west course was in excellent condition. Everything was in great shape. This course is wide open for the most part. The greens were excellent. Of the 4 courses I played this week this one was in the best shape. As it turns out this was the cheapest price that I played but it was in the best condition.
Great Shape
Tee Boxes & Fairways are in excellent shape. Greens recently aerified but putted true & FAST. Staff seemed concerned because of the heat & kept reminding us to drink plenty of fluids. Pace of play was very good. 4hrs 10mins with foursome & extreme heat.....
Fairly Wide Fairways
Bag Drop very busy with 3 course but enough people to move you thru. Counter staff not over friendly. Course was in excellent shape. Pace was fine on front nine but slowed down on back. Not a lot of trouble on the course but challenging enough for weekend golfers.
Good course
We have played this course each time we have visited Myrtle Beach. Course was in good condition. Good service. Women's tees are very fair. Carts now have GPS. Only drawback, GPS sometimes play ads that you cannot pause while player is taking their shot.
True greens
very nice ,greens were fast in true not very difficult easy to score a Well a great confidence booster
