Wolf at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort
About
Forget everything you've heard about that gentler, kinder Pete Dye at Paiute. When you step onto the Wolf Course at the Las Vegas Paiute Resort, the legendary architect with the cold hacker heart returns. And then some. The newest of the three Paiute courses, comes in at a staggering 7,604 yards.
And it's an isolated 7,604 yards. You don't only get lost in your round here. You could almost literally get lost in the desert with a few wrong turns off the cart path. Drives that go flying off target deep into the desert areas are unlikely to found by another human ever. A rattlesnake might be keeping your Pro V1s company for the rest of their days. This is stunning scenery, capable of leaving the most cynical hacker open mouthed.
Paiute Wolf is just a far enough drive away from the Sin City hustle that it's likely the top, high-end course you can easily get on last minute in the Vegas valley. It also might be the best of them all.
Also known as Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort - Kwetoo-Unuv Course.

17th hole "island green" Paiute Wolf Course Photo submitted by RockinDoc on 10/05/2012
This course was in the best shape of any course in the valley. Amazing job!
I couldn't believe how green and lush everything was. The greens where in amazing shape and the views were incredible! We were greeted with an early morning smile at the bag drop, and it continued in the clubhouse when we paid. The driving range was a perfect setup for how lush and green the fairways would be. I would play this course over and over!
Great course, slow play....
The Wolf was in great shape as usual. I could have played with a group of 8 on the back nine and we could have kept pace... I also felt a bit gouged for a 5 ounce bottle of the course branded sunscreen for 10 bucks... Which, on a treeless and shadeless course is more than a nice to have... Everything else was tops - the range, gps carts and staff....
Top Notch!
Excellent time from the time you enter the parking lot to the time you leave the parking lot. Exceptional customer service. Extremely challenging course but still very enjoyable to play. Beautiful mountain & Desert views - not a house in sight.
Course was in great shape, pace of play about 4 hours -
marshal kept the pace of play going in a courteous & professional manner. We had lunch - excellent food, service & beautiful clubhouse views.
Great figure/shape
I played Wolf course, black tee. Twilight start. 47USD by golfnow.com.
The course is beautiful, challenging and in amazing place.
The best value for golf in Vegas.
The 15th hole is something!
Teeboxes, fairways and greens are in very good condition. Around the green is the best design in this course. Well protected greens with deep sand and grass traps.
Fast greens.
Par 4s are really long, 400-470 yrds.
If I return ever to Vegas I will be here again!
Paiute Wolf Course
Beautiful Challenging Layout in the middle of the dessert.
wonderful course, Great value
The staff were outstanding, the practice facility excellent, the views spectacular. The pace of play was excellent. You had a wide choice of tees to select the difficulty for you. Only down side was that the wind was up to a three club difference - tough. Would definitely play this course again.
Best course in Las Vegas area
All three of the Paiute courses are always in great shape and very playable for all skill levels. The staff takes care of you and always provides a friendly atmosphere and encouragement. Each course requires that you stay in play and the desert can be disastrous but if you take it easy you will have one of the best days of golf ever.
Slow Play
Although the overall time was okay we still had to wait on almost every tee as the group ahead of us were just getting off the tee. We even go to the tee before they had left several times. People can really speed things up by everyone getting on their ball and ready to hit when it is their turn. NOT sitting in the cart until your buddy hits then drive together 20 yards get out and start your routine.
Outstanding!
What's beautiful track. Excellent layout with challenging shots for each aspect of your game. I loved the course conditions and attention to detail. A remarkable value for the price.
Great greens and the fairways was perfect
I just wanted to say it was my first time playing there and I had fun and it was in perfect condition. The greens is how all course use be like. All the way to the practice range to the first tee very nice place and well worth the money indeed.. Took my wife for first time golfing and she was in Ahh of the place.. Great job with maintained the place.. Look forward to going back I played the tow other ones there and just as nice.. Thx Guys..
Tough but fair!
This was my second time to play this course and I enjoyed it both times. However, as a woman that doesn't hit the ball a long way, I would really appreciate some forward tees. The yardage was very challenging for me (and the woman I played with) so I went knowing I would not score well. With all the talk about "playing it forward" I would have thought you might take that into account. Especially at that price.
Play the correct tees!
The Paiute Wolf course is really a great test of golf. The greens are tricky but manageable. The dude in the pro shop had the personality of a rock, but four different cart girls and the one in the halfway house were incredibly friendly and made up for the rock. Also, the bar/restaurant staff were great and we had a table overlooking one of the 18th greens (three courses on property).
The 15th hole on the Wolf Course is very close to the Island 17th at Sawgrass. There are a few differences but now that I've played both, it's almost like you're playing the famed par 3.
Just make sure you choose the right tees. Two sets of tees are over 7000 yards and the third one back (Yellow) is more like 6500. The Yellow was plenty for this 3-handicap. Enjoy!!
Nice Course Weak customer friendliness and service for the money.
I play a lot of golf in Vegas and there are more reasonably priced courses with better customer service than Paiute. Our foursome kept up reasonal rate of play and we didn't have people behind us. The marshall had a very poor attitude and pushed us pick up the pace. Shaking head and commenting under his breath. Nothing more irritating than staff to rush you through the course like a amusement park. If the Paiute course wants just tourist business then they can have it. Without local support to those who golf here year round they may as well feed the rabbits as it isn't worth the drive.
Excellent shape
We golfed the wolf course which was in absolutely awesome shape. The staff were great. The only negative is that we paid 134.00 each and we have golfed a lot of courses in California and area and felt this was overpriced. An example is we golfed the mountain course at Wasatch mountain state park in midway Utah the next day for 87.00 for TWO of us and the course there was darn close to being in as good a shape and the scenery was just as nice.
Fun course. Enjoyed the layout.
Very nice facility - including practice range, chipping and putting areas. The fairways were nicely maintained but the desert rough could be nasty for the unwary or unlucky. Probably would've finished much earlier but were behind the tail end of a tournament. Don't forget to check out the bar at the end - best drinks I've had in Vegas.
Great value for the money, and super friendly staff!
This is a great course, particularly the Wolf. Challenging but fun, and staff at the course were above and beyond friendly and courteous.
Desert golf at its best.....
Beautiful golf course with stunning desert and mountain views. Stand on the tee box on any hole and your surrounded by desert and awesome looking mountains. All I kept thinking was how do they keep this course so green in the middle of the desert. LOL Pray the wind stays away. It got us on the back 9. Greens are fast. Oh by the way riddle me this what club do you play to a 182yd par 3 island green in the middle of the desert. Its a must play!!
Nice layout. Interesting holes
Very windy day. Tough conditions. Still enjoyable.
Desert golf at its best
This place is absolutely fantastic!!!! You cannot beat the views. Staff was super friendly, the course in great shape and the weather superb. I played it 3 days in a row - May 1 it was windier than I had ever seen it (steady30-40 mph winds). May 2 was picture perfect - barely any wind at all. May 3 was what you would expect from a course so out in the open - light breezes with occasional gusts. Very challenging, but if you can keep it in the green stuff (fairway or rough) you can shoot a good score. I cannot believe I never played here before, and can't see playing anywhere else in Vegas after.
Great course, gorgeous scenery and friendly staff.
Loved the course and the natural beauty. No homes surrounding this jewel, just mountains in the distance. The only minor negative is that the greens had just been aerated, so they were slightly bumpy - just bad timing on my part.
