About
Devil's Claw is one of two golf courses at Whirlwind G.C., part of the Wild Horse Pass Resort and Casino on the Gila River Indian Reservation near Chandler. In addition to its views of four mountain ranges -- South Mountain, the Estrella Mountains, the San Tan Mountains and the Superstitions -- Devil's Claw overflows with Native American culture.
A round on the Devil's Claw at Whirlwind Golf Club begins on Greasy Mountain, a par-4 424-yarder that faces Muh-wah Ha-dahk - the Gila River Indian Community's name for South Mountain. Things get long on the fifth, Maricopa Journey, a par-5 593-yarder designed to memorialize the travels of the Pee-Posh (or Maricopa tribe) from the Colorado River to where the Gila and Salt rivers meet. Go home via Going Home, the 18th hole, a par 4 that measures 442 yards from the Black tees. As the Gila River Indian Community sings it, "Our songs are ending as you go your separate ways, take along with you the good songs that were sung here today, as within your hearts."
Don't go straight home: You can still fit in another song after golfing the Devil's Claw golf course at the Whirlwind Golf Club in the clubhouse, which features a fully stocked bar and plenty of plasma televisions for relaxing and catching up on other sports.

Just perfect
Awesome course. A bit expensive but we got a discount through GolfNow so it was worth it
Perfect round in Chandler
Not target golf with generous fairways but still entertaining, challenging desert.
Butler group
Course was fine and pace of play was slow. But no cart girl and no communication that that service was not provided. 9 guys. You would have made you money back. My guys very disappointed and upset at me Get your act together considering what we paid
Great course
Great golf course. Cart girls are awesome. Do not go into the restaurant for anything. Horrible service and extremely rude bartenders. I will not be back. My first visit to this facility was good but this last time sealed the deal . Horrible.

Restaurant closed early which was a shame. Drinks available for splendid desert views.

Nice course but prefer others
Played Devils Claw and read many reviews on how amazing it was only to show up and be underwhelmed. Course was in fair conditions. Some dead grass in the fairways and rough. The tee boxes and greens were in great shape. Range, chipping and putting greens were in excellent condition. Was very impressed about that. However for the cost, layout and condition of the course, I would rather play another course in the valley. Happy I played it once, but probably won’t play it again.
