On the Classic Club's scenic landscape, golfers will find a wide variety of trees including olive trees, towering pines, and California pepper, but unlike the many other golf courses in Palm Springs, there isn't a single palm tree. The Classic Club opened in 2006 to much acclaim and has since garnered a following amongst locals and visitors. Formerly a host site for the Bob Hope Classic, the challenging layout has an interesting mix of tour-worthy holes including intimidating par 3s balanced by reachable par-5s and short par-4s. Water hazards come into play on 13 holes. The back nine begins with a memorable stretch of holes. The par-4 10th is a tight driving hole with an elevated green and the 11th hole requires a shot over water. The stretch ends with the par-3 12th, which also plays over water to a well protected green.

Beautiful course, great conditions

Nice layout, quite a bit of water. Sand traps, fairways, and greens were perfect conditions. Greens semi-fast. Beautiful views of surrounding mountains

Great Course, but bad greens!

The course in general was great! One of the best layouts in Palm Springs! The only down side was the condition of the greens, but they are reseeding the course this week, so that is why the greens were in awful shape! Other than that, I love this course. I will come back here in November and play here again!

Great Golf

My granddaughter and I played from the gold tees. We both lost a few balls in the penalty areas but had a great time. Plenty of challenge for both of us. It was 105 degrees when we finished at 1:50. Didn’t have lunch, just headed for our hotel and pool.

Always a wind here

Best Value in Palm Springs. Paid $60.00 got $15 meal voucher and free towel. Only course that had wet towels and ice coolers on cart ( covid) and provided 2 bottles of water of 4 courses we golfed that week.. Fairways are wide but 13 holes have water. Fairways were lush green . Staff was great. Restaurant has 5 star food options. their waygu beef patty was great. The wind was a nice but definitely affects play. Was told PGA members had course eliminated as scores too high when windy.

Florida golfer first time in Palm Springs

Classic golf course came highly recommended from several locals in Palm Springs area. The location along I-10 made for easy accessibility. However upon arrival there was no one at bag drop and only one person at cart staging area.Though the cart guy,pro shop and restaurant staff were very helpful and courteous. As part of the GolfNow package...we got a very good lunch, golf towel, range balls, cart and greens fees for $90.Which we thought was well worth it.The course layout and condition for this late in the season was very good.We played from the blue tees at 6700 yards which made for a very challenging round. The wind was not an issue and we played in the hot afternoon sun at 105% which really didn’t effect our game being from humid Florida. This course definitely needs a starter, bag drop guys and an on course golf marshalll to keep the pace of play moving along..To their credit they were hosting a youth golfing event on the Monday afternoon we were there.Very good golfing experience overall.

Nearly Perfect!

Our first time to Palm Springs and Classic Club was our 4th and final course we played. My wife immediately noticed it didn't look the same as the other desert courses, not a single palm tree on the course! She also liked the complementary towels, ball repair tool and marker. I liked the variety of holes, short and long par 3s, par 4s and par 5s, and lots and lots of water. Since it was about 105 in the shade it was really great that the food and beverage cart came by twice each side. The green fee included dinner so we enjoyed great food while we cooled off in the majestic club house and planned our next visit to the Classic Club!

Classic Club

Rode the Blues (6711/72.9/135) in slightly over 4H early morning with John, Mark and Daniel. Thanks to John for setting up and to Classic Club for having the guru group out. Around 105 and hazy with a little breeze by the time we were finishing.

Classic Club was designed as a suitable host for the PGA Palm Springs tour stop when it opened. They did host the PGA Tour for 3 years a little over a decade ago. The pro's did not like the frequently windy conditions the area along the I-10 corridor is known for, and moved to courses more conductive to lower scoring. Fun Arnold Palmer design, nice elevation changes and valleys coupled with trees that would make you think this is more of a mountain than desert course make it unique for the area.

Bermuda tees were level and lush with good coverage. Par 3's could use some divot attention, but the others were very good.

Bermuda fairways had a few browned out and hardpan areas here and there, but very good overall.

Bermuda rough was lush. Nice to chip from as the ball usually sat up.

Sand traps were excellent with deep, thick, fine sand that both looked and played great. Rakes provided on the carts.

Bermuda greens were firm and medium slow. Alot of grain on these greens. They have some browned out areas but putted better than they look.

The customer service was excellent from everyone encountered. Drink cart out making the rounds. Upgraded carts with nice GPS and ports for electronics. Complementary water and good range balls on a 1st class grass practice facility. Everything about this place is top notch. Definitely recommended.

Classic Club

Rode the Blues (6711/72.9/135) in 2H, 50M as a single mid morning using Troon Rewards. Around 100 and hazy with a little breeze.

Classic Club was closed for several months this spring/summer due to COVID and only recently reopened. They were obviously maintaining the course well during the closure, as everything is well above average. I did not expect conditions this good considering they are fairly near to closing for fall over seeding.

Bermuda tees were level and lush with great coverage. Par 3's somewhat chewed up, but the other 14 were excellent.

Bermuda fairways were mostly lush, mowed close and firm. A few browned out and hardpan areas here and there, but very good overall.

Bermuda rough was lush. Nice to chip from as the ball usually sat up.

Sand traps were about as immaculate as you will see on a daily fee course. Deep, thick, fine sand that both looked and played great. Even the practice green traps were excellently maintained like the on course traps.

Bermuda greens have some browned out areas but putt alot better than they look. They were mostly smooth and putted decently once I got the medium to medium slow speed down. Firm, almost zero ball marks.

The customer service was excellent from everyone encountered. Drink cart out making the rounds. Nice GPS on the carts. Complementary water and range balls on a 1st class grass practice facility. Everything about this place is top notch. Highly recommended.

What an amazing course!!

A couple friends and I headed out to Palm Springs for the day just to play Classic Club. We go out every year to play but always miss Classic Club for some reason. We’ve always heard amazing things about it.

They had just opened back up on September 1st due to COVID and the course was great. A little dry still in some spots because it’s still summer. But the overall course was in great condition and I can only imagine what it’s like in the winter time.

The course has a great layout with lots of water and bunkers. You better be on your A+ game when you play. It’s not a desert style course and never felt like you were in the middle of the desert which is amazing.

This is a must play.

They had a deal for $60 plus a $15 food credit. They even gave us Classic Club custom golf towels. The staff was super friendly.
