Yocha Dehe Golf Club at Cache Creek Casino Resort

Beautiful layout. Challenging holes. Staff is top notch: friendly, helpful & knowledgeable. Excellent facility. Restaurant was very good. Nicely stocked proshop.

Course was undergoing some turf replacement in some areas had died out due to excess heat.

Greens were in excellent condition. Rolled true but not ridiculous fast.

We will return, next for a stay and play.

Pluses:

Course layout - Interesting variety of holes. No repeats, fair but challenging from any tee box. Beautiful & stunning views.

Staff - the gentleman at bag drop was so helpful, informative and just plain nice. It set the tone for our visit.

Pro shop guys got us checked in quickly.

Cart gals - Awesome. Helpful and efficient.

Course Rangers - Being a former ranger myself, I can say these guys were welcoming. We never needed any encouragement for pace of play. They were invisible when they should have been.

Maintenance staff - There were a lot of course maintenance personnel present but each one strive to be unabtrusive.

Overall - We will be back. Plan to do a 3 or 4 day stay & play. Need a second look at a couple of holes. We were very impressed with the facility and would recommend highly to anyone considering playing here.

This is the best course I ever played. I love to play this course with my friends. There are quite a number of sand bunkers and water hazards. Pretty challenging.

Unfortunately the course was undergoing lots of maintenance; punched greens, and many other repairs. There was a lot of maintenance personnel and equipment essentially everywhere. I can appreciate the need and the amount of work required to maintain the course, however like most golfers, not while I am playing.

I play every week all over the Bay Area and other than some private courses, there is nothing better than this course.

When you add the service, the amenities, the course conditions and the extras with the casino near by,

There is no better experience.

Complementary water bottle, coffee, towels and even cold scented towels at the end of the round.

It just feels good.

I drive from San Francisco which is about 1 hour and 45 minutes, and I don’t mind it one bit.

If you live or are visiting nor cal, this is a must visit.

Been playing this course since they first opened, & course conditions are pretty much the same as they were 20 years ago! Truly a beautiful course, challenging but still fun. Friendly & welcoming staff. Always a joy to play at Yocha DeHe!

I have played Yocha many times over the past years. Always enjoy my rounds. This past round was a little slower than usually. Didn’t seem to be anything other than lots of people enjoying themselves also. Don’t tell too people, but I recommend this course for any that is looking to play a fun, challenging, but fair course. That is well maintained with a staff make you feel welcomed.

Very nice layout & a nice challenge whether you play forward or back. This course is manicured but you need a good placement shot in the fairway for your approach shot. You need your approach shot to the green to be tight. This is because you may need to hit an occasional undulated fairway or blind shot & be able to putt undulated greens. Pretty much sums it up. Everyone from the greeter to the cart crew, marshall, beverage girl, proshop, restaurant & bar, starter, they were all above & beyond w/ courtesy. Good pace of place too. Keep in mind if you play back, some of the tees are being rebuilt. They look great, doing well, but still a bit soft & spongy. The fairways are like a carpet. Never once had a bad lie. Maintenance was all around watering the fairways. They would be aware of your play & make room for you to hit. Just a couple suggestions though. As nice as the greens are, the overwhelming amount of spike scrapes the closer you get to the hole as well as un-repaired ball marks all over the greens was a bit too much. This did have an effect on putting even after attempts to pat down or repair them. For a facility like this, it should be strictly enforced. Maybe the starter can mention these things including divot repair in the fairway before folks tee off and the marshalls a few times & during the round as they make a pass by now & then. I hit a couple traps, got out nice & puffy, but one looked good on the surface (& most did), but it was hard as a rock. Don’t remember the hole though. Maybe maintenance can make attempts to rake the surface of them deeper for that soft puffy bunker shot & not just the top for appearance only. Overall, a wonderful experience & I will definitely return & really look forward to it when I do.

Many holes have large swaths of ground under repair with just bare dirt awaiting new sod. It looks like someone was trying to moonwalk on many greens witb large scuff marks. We got a good deal for $80 at 1:50 pm, so it wasn't the end of the world. However, if I paid the going rate of $150+, I would of been quite frustrated and upset with the conditions.

12:10 tee time very slow front nine. Couple of marshals came out on the back nine and really made a difference last 5 holes was a pleasure to play. Love the coarse
