Yocha Dehe Golf Club at Cache Creek Casino Resort

I love this course starting with the 1st hole from elevated tees on top of the hill and beautiful shots over water on the last 2 finishing holes. My only complaint is there was several holes that were fairway only and they didn’t make much since. It wasn’t wet or near a hillside that gets runoff or anything. Also carts would almost shutoff in between fairways if you spray your ball and if you were 10 ft from hazards. But I sill would recommend it and I look forward to coming back to play.

We played in October 2023. Overall, we had a great experience.

Positives:

The people are very friendly and accommodating from the bar to the starter and bag people. Very attentive and ensure you are well taken care of.

The scenery is beautiful.

The course layout is well done through the valley.

The golf cart was the most comfortable golf cart I've ever experienced.

The greens were heavily used and in good condition.

The fairways are pristine.

A bit of a challenge to get to, definitely off the beaten path.

Negatives

Not too much but I'm picky.

The tee boxes are a bit shaggy, probably related to the season.

The greens were fairly wet/soft and there's always a few people who don't repair their green divots properly. Not really the courses fault.

The layout, while visually beautiful, is fairly straightforward. Most of the holes are straight away and have massively wide fairways designed to keep play moving (resort feel). This course does not penalize players for spraying the ball off the tee or into greens and you could be playing medium golf and still score very well (could be a positive or negative).

Overall, a very enjoyable round at a high quality golf course with wonderful people working there. I could see the low handicapper wishing for a bit more of a challenge.

Love everything about yoche. Only drawback was because of cart path only the pace was crazy slow. Finished over an hour behind pace. However this is the best course within a 90 minute drive so I will continue to come back again and again.

Even with many fairways currently under maintenance, still a very nice and enjoyable round of golf.

Had many Friends tell me what a great course this is so I thought I would try it. Drive 1.5hrs to play just to find out the Course is in Repair mode. Fairways everywhere were Cut up under Repair. Bunkers were Wet and Not much New Sand. Had Landscape personnel all over the Fairways constantly in your way but you can clearly see that when repaired and kept up this course could be a 10. I rate it a 6 for condition and a 4 for Value at this current condition. Staff was awesome and food was TopNotch!! But at well over $100 I will not return unless course is perfect. Reviews better get better.

This was my first time playing this course. Great course with awesome views. Greens were a bit rough, played in the afternoon so it was foot traffic and previous players failed to fix their ball marks. Tee time was 1:50 and we barely finished before dark. Pace of play was slow. I will definitely play here again, with an earlier tee time. Stayed in the hotel overnight, very nice but pricey.

The course was heavily cart restricted. The course is under sod repair, so it’s understandable and but with the car restrictions it made course play very very slow with that being said we were told a few times to pick up the pace. with people in front of you it was tough.

Third time playing here and each time it’s been worse off than most muni courses in the region. Burnt out fairways replaced by new sod on 50% of the fairway area. They over water it like crazy so everything plugs in September when there’s no rain or dew. Bunkers are soaked mud pits. Greens are incredibly inconsistent in firmness, length, and water content. Great layout but certainly not worth the shape it’s in. Better off playing a public course for 1/4 the price.

The only reason for 3 stars is all the work being done now. Greens were psyched a couple weeks ago and are coming around. Lots of sod being replaced on tees and fairways which is starting to take hold. Big empty areas in fairways where new sod is being installed. A lot of walking with about 2/3 s fairways cart path only. All pretty normal maintenance for this time of year. The online price made it worthwhile for me.

The greens were slower than a turtle. Shot an 80 with 5 three putts. No aerification alert. Could’ve shot my best round ever. Didn’t even roll true.

I have played here a few times in the past. This course never ever disappoints.

I have played the course many times and love the place. However there is a fungus now growing everywhere and on all fairways were in really bad shape. All tee boxes were shredded down to dirt. The grass was scorched and the greens were being aerated... I hope the Cache Creek can fix the fungus situation as it really is a special place..

Great course love all the elevating T box who ever designed this is a genius or a stroke of luck for as hot as the valley is in the summer I know that every T box have shades for the carts to park and that is a beautiful thing the sand traps are beautiful white sands and the greens are perfect rolling conditions and very challenging for any level of players ( up T get a lot of love here as well )

And the staffs are so friendly I get a chance to talk with the starter ( Jason) he spends some time to explain the course to me and a few do and don’t and that really helped
