Almost worth it

Good layout-except two holes: one par 3 really slowed pace of play and one par 4 that was shoehorned into the course. For women especially- no restrooms on course!!! There was one, but it was on an adjacent course no longer active. If the course we're not in proximity to Hilton Head, they'd never get the play or green fees.

good value for the money

Very nice course for the price. Was disappointed in the back 9 since the T-blocks and fairways hadn't been cut for a while. Grass was quite long. Also our cart was in poor shape making noises and very hard "jolt" everytime we went over the curb areas and there were alot of them.

Great Course

Very nice course in excellent condition. Pace of play was a little slow but not bad. There is a problem with the facilities (i.e. driving range, putting greens, etc.) It seems that there is a lot of instructional use being made of these services. We had a 12:04 tee time and had a difficult time finding spaces on the driving range or the putting greens before tee off. They were packed with "students" Maybe it was just the day or time but you may want to check it out with the course before you make any tee time reservations.

Great Course - But.....

We tee'd off at 12:38 as a twosome. We followed a foursome(????) who had 5 people riding in 2 golf carts. The first couple holes only 4 of the 5 people actually played golf. After that ALL five were playing. The round took 5:15 minutes. There was NO ranger/marshall to speed up play. At the break we mentioned the problem to some staff members but nothing was done. The course was in great shape and the golfnow.com greens fee was very good. Nor sure whether I would play this course again. It is a shame that they don't control pace-of-play at this course.

Very wet and slow play

We played this course after some heavy rains the previous day so it was very wet and cart paths only. The course can't help this but they could hire a ranger to deal with slow players. We ended up skipping 2 holes to get ahead of the slow group (staff suggested this) and the pace was great after that, but we only got 16 holes in.

Nice little course

We found this course through Golf Now and Trip Advisor. It got good reviews, and the price was right. We started with lunch at the clubhouse - good club sandwiches for a fair price. The tables were sticky and there was a wasp buzzing around us, but the service was good and the food was tasty. The pace of play on the front nine was excruciatingly slow. Then a downpour came and apparently scared everyone away because we had the back nine to ourselves. It is a pretty course - we saw turkeys, cardinals, rabbits, and lots of turtles. The fairways are narrow, but not impossible. It was a great round, and I would go back!

Not Bad, Not Great

Wet, soggy day to play. It seemed as though the designers tried to make the course play harder than it was. One hole, they guy we were paired with and we could not figure out where the green was.

The course was in good condition except......for

The sand traps were, for the most part, nothing but raked dirt. Other than that the fairways and greens were in good shape. The greens could be a little faster but they played well as they were.

Pinecrest gold day

Played at 12.52. Pace of play slow on the front nine but picked up on the back. My wife and I played in four hours. Got a $24.00 rate from Golfnow and thought it was a good value for that money. Course was in good shape. Staff was friendly. I play to a 10 handicap and thought the course was challenging but fair for my golfing ability.

Very busy course!

This course must be very popular! Played on a Thursday and the parking lot was full so I expected a slow round but not so, the pace of play was good. Greens are in excellent condition but the rest of the course needs time to grow in, it's that time of the season I suppose. Challenging course but forgiving as well, not a lot of time looking for errant balls but not a lot of lost balls either. A few shots over water but the greens are generous with plenty of landing area without being punished with bunkers encroaching. I'm average and enjoyed this outing from the white tees.

Good condition, very large greens.

We played the day after some significant rain. The course was still very wet, it was cart paths only. Four and a half hours to play wasn't too bad in those conditions.
Lots of water on the course, not all of it visible when you were playing a shot. A course guide would be very helpful.
The greens are extremely large. If you just play to the middle of the green you will have some mighty long putts.
As others have written, there is a golf school operating at the course and they overwhelm the range. Regular players were relegated to a crowded, very wet section.

Poor course management

Rudimentary operation of the course is poor. No carts for players, no ranger or starter to manage pace of play. Overly aggressive greeter. Slow play. Course immensely backed up. Don't play here. Trust me...and I'm a guy with a lot of patience.

Great experience!

This is the best course I have played at HHI, including Harbour Town. The greens are near perfect. Good people. Highly recommend.

Slow, slow, slow.

Our round took five hours to complete. First, we had to wait about thirty minutes for a golf cart. We got one after our scheduled tee-time was scheduled. But, we still waited for a couple groups to tee off. The group in front of us was real slow. No ranger was seen all day, so the pace of play stayed slow. Also, no beverage cart. This was a lost opportunity for the course. It didn't look like the tee markers had been changed for several days. The greens were quite long. Overall, the course layout was good, and was a fair test for most golfer.

Reasonably priced

A good price in an area with too many high priced courses.
All the bunkers should be declared ground under repair since they are just dirt which was Very disappointing .
