With an excellent location surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains to one side and overlooking Georgia's Great Lake on the other, Lanier Islands Legacy Golf Course provides the perfect setting for a round of golf. The diverse, rolling landscape ranges from dense forest to open meadows to pristine beaches. Water has a strong presence throughout the golf course, coming into play on 12 holes. Many of them play right along the lake's shoreline. At 6,580 yards, the course is not particularly long but it is still a formidable challenge for long hitters since it requires quite a few demanding carries over the water. One of the most memorable holes for this reason is the par-4 12th, which presents an interesting risk-reward opportunity if you dare to cut the corner.

Course is great but very challenging

We played and its been very raining lately and course was soggy/muddy which is out of the course hands but bunkers were not managed and in bad shape. Greens were in good condition as well most of the course. I green fees are a little pricey for what it is but the food and drinks being put into the price should be something optional. The holes with the boaters cheering and heckling did make for a fun experience on those certain holes

Tough course

Enjoyed the course. Very pretty. Very challenging. Strongly recommend. But, they had no water to drink on the course. Zero. On an 86 degree day, that would have been nice!

one of the most beautiful scenery you can enjoy in Atlanta

You can enjoy beautiful lake views in most of the holes when you play in this course. You can see many boats floating on the lake. Course layout is challenging. Not a wide open fairways so long hitters may not like this course. It requires accurate iron shots. Greens condition was okay but not great. It was not that fast, You can pick up quick lunch and drinks and can do some pre-game warm ups at the range. All included in green fees. Definitely recommend this course if you plan to play with your friends and families from out of town.

Great time!

Beautiful and challenging course on the banks of Lake Lanier. Free range ball, free snacks and food, and free sodas and water. Staff was overly nice and accommodating. Litttle pricey for everyday golf but if you get a hot deal

Or go for special outing it’s hard to beat.

Wow the course was great

I thought the presentation of the course was fabulous and the free food included was a nice touch. I lost to many balls to the water but had a blast! The staff was friendly and had a very good time.
