Great for the guys.......
......because there isn't any bathrooms on this course!! The layout is great - wide, open, long BUT, the fairways are horrible!! It was like playing in a barn - all dry hay!! The tee boxes/greens need work and a lot of the bunkers were overgrown. One of the managers was going around checking out the bunkers!! It's in a great area (took us 55 minutes), nice neighborhoods but, it's not worth the travel.
Eastwood Golf Club
I really like this course. It is challenging with some blind shots. Once it greens up a bit it will be a beautiful course to play.
Good value course
The course has a really fun layout and some holes are very challenging. I enjoyed the elevation changes. The biggest let down is the condition of the greens and bunkers. If those get fixed and mowed right than this place can have alot more potential of attracting more players. Needs a big helping of weed and feed.
Dead grass
If you don't mind playing on completely dead grass on all fairways and tee boxes then you're fine here. Grass is well cut it's just all dead. Staff tells me it's a fertilizer issue that hopefully will be flushed out in a couple weeks.
Value Course
The course has a lot of water and some fun holes. However, its condition was quite poor, from tee to green. That said, for $20 or under, it's a fair value course you'd play regularly as to not break the bank.
Is what it is
Golfnow is full of a bunch of pretentious snobs who can't see the good in things and they constantly bash this course. Sure it may be a little dry and the greens may have some patches but it's a beautiful course otherwise. I like when a course isn't completely swamped with people. The game to me is about being outside and enjoying playing. You can definitely do that here at Eastwood. I'll keep coming back as long as it doesn't become a desert.
Défi interessant
Le terrain a un beau potentiel et un défi intéressant. Peu occupé le temps de jeu est très rapide. L'entretien laisse un peu à désirer ce qui peut-être dû au peu de golfeur
Nice layout and fair price
This course has so much potential. The layout is there and has water on several holes as well as several dog legs. Greens need work and so do the fairways and tee boxes; mainly just a lack of being watered. The price for this course is very reasonable. I wish the owner(s) would put the money back into this course because it could be a hidden gem in the Orlando area. It surrounds nice homes in a couple communities and has plenty of wildlife around the course which makes it scenic for being in Orlando. Overall this course needs work , but is a solid price and good for low to mid amateur golfers who want to work on their game, but still offer challenges.
EXCELLENT COURSE, NEEDS WORK
TOO MUCH DEAD GRASS IN FAIRWAYS AND ROUGH. BUT IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL COURSE AND A NICE EXPERIENCE. STAFF WAS EXTREMELY FRIENDLY.
Course needs maintenance
I've always liked this course but it seems the condition has been neglected for awhile. The grass was straw and had been cut that day or the day before since there were large grass piles throughout. Sand traps had weeds growing too.
Gone to seed
They're letting it go and maintenance was the bare minimum. But that meant the ball was sitting up a bit in the fairways! Greens were very spotty and beat up. Traps had grass in them.
Nice length from the back tee and not a bad layout with some severe doglegs and mounding in the fairways along with some water that wasn't really in play.
Disappointed
We've played Eastwood before and although it's never been an elite course it's usually in good shape as their other two courses are in great shape. The fairway grass was long the ruff looked like they haven't mowed it in six months and decided to mow it the day before so big clumps of grass clipping everywhere the bunkers had grass growing in them and the greens had grass sprouts everywhere that where just mowed down very very disappointed
Would not return
Played in the middle of the day, and was able to play fairly quickly. With the course conditions, it was easy to understand why. Dry grass, shotty mowing, trimmings everywhere. The greens where horribly bumpy. Overall, I got to swing my clubs, and that was all the round of golf was good for. Will not be returing, no matter how cheap it is.
Cow Pasture
Since playing here 3 years ago the course has gotten to the point that they should pay you to play. What is supposed to be a fairway is med rough with grass piles throughout. Rough is 18 -20 inches in places and impossible to find your ball. We lost nearly two dozen balls and the majority were right down the middle. Just unbelievable, greens were fighting off heavy growth but puttable. If it wasn't such a beautiful day, I would have walked away and went back to work. I was trying to find one good thing to look at on this course and it ended up being my beer and the blue sky, everything else looked like they were about to bail hay and bring the cattle in to graze. Don't waste your time. For those of us who remember how great it was and one of the best layouts around, dont go and ruin your vision of what it used to be.
Needs a lot of work
Suggest another course. Grass so high you will even loose balls in the fairways. We should have quit when we noticed 4 Mallard ducks had moved into the pond that normally would have been a sand trap on the first hole!
Awful
It was the worst golf course I have ever played in Florida. The layout is good, but the fairway weren't cut. It was like we were playing in the rough in the middle of the fairway. Bunkers had gras and flowers in them, almost no sand at all. We would never recommend this to anyone.
Bad shape
The course conditions were awful. Sometimes had trouble finding my ball in the fairway. Rough was like a cow pasture. Weed patches in the greens. The kid at the counter was very nice and it was only $15.
