God AWEFUL!!!!!
I've played here before and the course was much nicer. The grass in the fairways was just as high as the ruff. We spent more time looking for our golfball it the fairways. Then we actually spent playing golf. And the driving range was closed. And no putting green. And the sand traps were filled with grass. I definitely would not recommend playing here at all. I can't see that golf making it much longer. And the way it looked I don't think that they care
Should just close this course
This course is in absolutely horrible condition. It's obvious they put no money into it which I get because they can't possibly be making money here. They might as well just close the place or make it into a dog park.
STAY AWAY, WASTE OF YOUR MONEY.
This course is in the worst condition I have seen it. Played here several times in the past. NO MAINTENANCE being done, fairways are like the deep rough on other courses, you will lose your ball on a perfect drive, greens are covered in weeds, bunkers have grass growing in it, I can go on for a while on this.
The owners should be ashamed of what they are doing, I know they want to develop this for houses/condos, but to call this a golf course and ask for money to play it from customers is an insult. GolfNow should drop them from their offerings, because it is giving them a bad name to be associated with owners like these.
EASTWOOD GC
The course is in very bad condition. The putting green is gone. The driving range is unmowed and under water. The bunkers have grass growing in them and haven't been raked in sometime. Overall the whole course needs to be mowed.
Play I-4 instead
I know there is court suit pending between the developer and the home owners over closing the course and putting up condos, but that should be no reason to completely neglect the course. On first arrival, no putting green, range closed, a water main leak running across the parking lot which has been going on for some time due to rust in the water. Could not find a cart without torn seat coverings.
The course is in horrible condition. My first shot was nearly lost in the first cut off the fairway, length of the grass was 4-5". Any and all rough is at least 11", I lost half a dozen balls. Beware of the fire ants. I saw not a single trap that looked as though it had been machine raked in the past month, many were nearly overgrown with weeds.. Let me stop and just say "STAY AWAY".
Neglected
The worst course condition. No maintenance on the fairway grass and putting greens are terrible. The course has no practice facility. The place is on the way down and will be close soon
Don't waste your time or money.w
Unless you like playing golf in a goat pasture with greens and fairways that haven't been mowed and rough deeper than any Open, Don't Waste Your Time or Money!!
The counter person was rude and lied that the course and greens were in good shape. That might be true if you consider that they have not been mowed recently (days) and there are weeds growing throughout the greens. Otherwise, not so much!
Too many good courses in the Orlando area at better prices than to spend any more here.
Not the course I played growing up
I've played this course many times over the last 15 years seeing as I moved in to the Eastwood community when I was 12. What was once a beautiful, well maintained course with challenges on quite a few holes has become a challenge for so many other reasons. The tee boxes are only distunguished from the surrounding rough by the tee markers. Hitting from he fairway is comparable to hitting from the rough. And god forbid you actually miss the fairway even by a foot. The rough is so over grown with weeds you'll spend 10 minutes looking for your ball. Thankfully I was able to avoid the bunkers this round. Had I found myself in one I surely would have left with at least one broken club head from hitting off of that concrete.
Now, I'm not sure if the owners are just letting the course slip silently off into obscurity and death or waiting for a boost in capital but one thing is for sure. The time to resurrect is now. I won't be playing this course (even for the $15 I spent) again any time soon. Get it together Eastwood.
What happened?
Wow ..what a shame.. This course used to be the cat's meow in east Orlando. not anymore it's a been neglected. .I hope the owners work this out & bring it back.. Nice homes..if I lived there I would be quite upset.
The course needs some TLC!
I know it was Monday but the greens were un Cut The Rough was uncut it was bad condition.
Some of the grass was growing up foot high just beside the greens couldn't swing at a ball to chip in on the green without hitting grass. I'm just glad I got to GolfNow hot deals to play there or I would have been upset paying full price
Horrible conditions
Pulled in to the entrance and the Parking lot was a ghost town, I was shocked this course used to be the place to play not to long ago. The conditions were horrible the course is so dried out that your not even hitting on grass your hitting on dried dirt, I heard they were going to close this course and it looks like it's on it's way, what a shame!!!!
Course has gone downhill
Course used to be in fine shape a few years ago...now it is overgrown on fairways and rough. Tough to tell the difference between the two. Greens are ok...most have several types of grass on them though. Just looks like noone cares to mow the course properly or even clean up the grass clippings from the last mowing. On the plus side, the very nice young lady working the 19th hole made an excellent sandwich, the highlight of my round.
I wont be coming back.
Owners are letting the course waste away.
The course has been let go.... fairway has overgrown grass, rough has high grass spots, and dead spots, etc. The sand traps have growing weeds, and the greens are burnt in various areas. And somehow, much of the course remains muddy.
Very unfortunate as I heard the owners and residents seem to be figuring out if they are selling. It already looks like it is closed.
why is it so hard to maintain this course
fairways a cow pasture, greens were green in sum spots, drive over the bridges quickly so you don't fall through
What happened!?!
Staff is great, layout is the best out of all the East Orlando courses, but they have really let the quality get out of control. Weeds everywhere, greens are in awful condition. It's really quite a bummer since it's close to home and used to be one of my favs. Hope they get the course turned around. At least the price isn't bad and the pace of play is good.
This course is a jewel that needs polishing.
The course needs to be rid of weeds growing throughout the fairways and greens. And the watering system needs to be utilized when there's no rain.
Pasture
Weeds galore. Bad greens. Grew up in this area. Used to be a great tract.
Great layout
Have read allot of poor reviews of this course but if you play many other courses in area as I do several per wk this course is at top of my list in all ways
Great value
For under $20 this is a great course for any skill level. Over 7k yards from the tips, and plenty of dog legs make for a challenging round. The greens were pretty unkept and poorly maintained, the rest of the course was great - aside from the occasional swimming pool bunker. Again, great value, friendly staff, fast new carts, and wide open on a Saturday... Can't beat that really.
Amen! This course is poorly maintained, the rough is atrocious and the clubhouse staff is rude and lies about the condition of the course!
