EastWood Golf Course
About
Located in Central Florida, the EastWood Golf Course spreads across 190 acres, stretching more than 7,000 yards from the back tees. Although it is long, there are fours sets of tees to accommodate all levels and abilities. The rolling fairways of the course are surrounded strategically placed mounding. There are also several lakes that come into play. The course is also known for its well-manicured greens, they are considered by some to be the best in the Orlando area. The EastWood Golf Course facility boasts several practice facilities including a natural grass driving range, a putting green, chipping area, and a practice bunker.

Needs a lot of Maintenance
This course used to be very well kept but right now is a dump. No putting green, chipping area is overrun with grass, and the range does not have any distance to the markers. The course it self is out of shape. The area around the greens the grass is high to the point that if you try to roll a shot it would be stop by the grass around the greens. The fairways area not well kept and some of the tee boxes have wild grass on them. I will not be playing this course ever again since this is not the first time I have played her and it is getting worse.
DRY and More Dry
I choosee to pkay this course because i just moved here and wanted to check it out, for the price and time how bad can it be, well it was bad from T to Green and everythg in between was Dry.
Nice layout but that is it
Think this course needs a mower
This is not an awful course but I'm pretty sure the groundskeeper is non existent or just doesn't know what he's doing. Off the fairways is not mowed at all, the greens are covered with a layer of sand and you gotta be careful driving over the bridges because they look like they are about to collapse. I haven't played here in awhile before yesterday but it was a very nice track.
Very poor conditions
Played here today in a foursome. Got out 30 minutes early because course was deserted. Played in 3-1/2 hours; a good pace. That is all the good I can say. The greens were horrible, the sand traps like concrete, it appears no new sand has been put in in years. At turn, said something to pro shop attendant who I believe was only employee working. He commented that the transition was going bad and they could never make some people happy. I said they really needed a lot of work and he said, we are working on it. I told him we saw no one working on the course at all. It is hard to believe in such a large housing community, there was hardly anyone playing. If course was maintained, the course would be nice, a great layout, but I could not call it a cow pasture because even the cows would not play it. There is no water on the course and the restaurant was closed. Will not return.
In horrible condition...
The Pro Shop and Grill staff were very friendly. After that, it is all downhill. The course is in pitiful condition from the totally burnt out and unusable practice putting green to the condition of the course from the fairway through the greens. Appears that they aren't spending any money on maintenance or they are just waiting to close down.
Sub par
I have played here several times before. On this occasion the course was in poor condition, both fairways and some greens. Pace of play was excellent because there weren't many other players on the course. Pro shop staff was very friendly. I won't go back anytime soon.
Another East Orlando Horror Show!!!
To those of you in the last few reviews who are saying the greens are good must shoot in the 100's. They are pathetic. Slow, bumpy and massive holes from some kind of disease or fungus on them. Played behind three young guys, who had no game, no manners, played the blue tees and on a lot of holes drove across the fringe of the greens.
This is just another 18 holes in the greater Orlando area that should close. I won't call it a golf course. A total goat ranch!!!
Nice Course
Closes course to where I live, the course is in good shape. Fast play and staff is very friendly. Will play as often as time allows.
Good course
Staff was applying insect pesticide to bunkers and we're getting in the way of players. Sand traps were like concrete and neighborhood kids were playing in the sand traps hindering play
NICE GREENS
Nice layout. Challenging pin placements. Green conditions were very nice. Fairways and first cut were as expected for Florida this time of year.
Never Again, NOT worth it
I purchased a group golfer for this course.. Supposed to come with greens fees and range balls.. I called on Sat to get my tee time, was told I would be with two other golfer. I was glad.. I get to the course about 10:30 for an 11:15 tee time.. I get to the pro shop, two kids are standing there. I give them my info.. And was told we don't have range balls (what??#. So I proceed to tell the RUDE staff member. Well it incudes range balls. So he says we wont have them till after noon.. hmm ok. Ok, what cart should I use, Well we don't have carts right now.. So at this point.. im a little heated.. A couple comes in apparently members or play there often gets their 11:00am tee time and low and behold we have a cart ready for you to start.. Hmm no cart for me and one for them.. So I walk out to wait for my cart.. Im outside and I see people getting range balls.. So I head over myself to the range and finally get some range balls #guess they are not lazy for the members) I hit some balls, go back to find my couple that I was paired with.. So the guy tells me oh they went and played already.. Hmm so you sent out the twosome I was with even though I had the same tee time but no carts available? So at this time im hot.. The Manager comes out of his office like he is bad or something.. And tells me of the balls are subject to availability. Ok show me.. after failing to show me on the form.. He stupidly points out the tee time availability info.. So I finally get to play, and NO STARTER.. Sunday morning packed and no starter.. Its busy.. And the pace. WOW, slow as can be.. GREENS beat up, fairways Ok. Not worth the money .. And will not be returning back..
A good test of golf
The course was very interesting. No two holes are the same. Lots of doglegs. Fairways were pretty firm, sometimes crusty. Greens were okay, a little on the slower side, but in generally good condition. We'll go back!
Good Course
The course is in decent shape on a fairly regular basis, with the exception of the greens currently have more than usual pits in them as of 2/21/21016 and whoever cut the cups needs to be fired. You don't place cups on the side of the slope of every friggin green. Other than that. had a great time.
A golf course that has risen from its ashes!!!
Played here in September and it was one of the worst courses I have ever played. No way to describe it. However, my wife wanted to play, so I got a time on Tuesday at 1:30 as a Hot Deal. Knew right away driving in that it was markedly better. It is not four or five star, but definitely playable. The greens are good, fairways have grass and the rough is much more tolerable. Not much as far as amenities are concerned, but it has really improved. If you are looking for a ha ha round of golf give them a try.
Great Course but Crowded
EastWood is a great course with great staff. I like the back nine better than the front, but the entire course is great, however it just seems the course of play is slower than other courses but really is 3.5 to 4 hours for a round so that is not bad, I just need to relax and enjoy the time on the course. I did try and do a replay but the cost was the same so I decided to depart and take care of other errands. It looks like the later afternoon is the best time to play or at least is the least crowded. No practice putting green and the driving range was shut down today in the afternoon for maintenance.
Overall I like the course but will probably play other courses for the next few weeks.
Older course but very reasonable
We started late in PM and i played with a 3 some as I was alone. I always enjoy my self and this was no exception. this course needs a lot of maintenance
Quick Round
There weren't too many groups on the course. I was able to play my round in 3 hours which is exactly what I was looking for. The course has a lot of dog legs which can be challenging. I would play this course again for a bargain price or a last minute tee time.
Good Day!
Very average course. I had an enjoyable round. I was a single and added to a twosome that made for a nice time. The GN price was incredible so definitely a good value and a good course when you are from New England and have not played for a couple of months. It could use a starter and ranger as non-locals you were at the mercy of the locals. I would recommend for the right price (@$20.00).
Would play again.
Very slow playing. Could use a ranger/Marshall to help things move faster. Course in good shape. Good greens. Would recommend.
Clint Would Like It!
From the casual and friendly clubhouse to the laid back restaurant this place felt right for us. We were very impressed by the course booklet which featured a page on "Speeding Pace of Play," something I feel EVERY course should encourage.
Fairways were wide and mostly water-hazard-free. They were also firm which allowed tee shots to roll quite a ways. The course guidebook says the fairways "are bordered by strategic mounding" which we found came into play on almost every hole.
Bunkers were soft but damp because of recent torrential rains. Deep "pot" bunkers guard the greens on most of the longer holes.
Greens started out fair but got faster as they dried out during the round.
Overall, an enjoyable event. We definitely hope to play here with our boys when we come back to the area in June.
