Average course on a chilly day
I have played this course before, they have done some maintenance, it could be better.
The course is below others in the area when it comes to maintenance. For the money you can find better courses in the area. I have a soft spot for this course, it does offer some challenging holes.
Better than Before
It had been a few years since playing here. I do think the course is in much better condition than the last time I played. The fairways and greens are acceptable....the rough around the greens is still a little "rough". Overall it was a good round and well worth the money......
Much improved
Course vastly improved but still needs work on sand traps and appearance. Edging the cart paths near the tees an greens would be a simple step to improving the appearance.
It was a very beautyfull course
Friendly staff, and a fine course,
No Carts
Haven't played here in quite awhile, pretty bad shape last time, we figured we'd give it a try. I play alot of courses but I have never been to a course that didn't have enough carts to play busy and slight delays BUT. We got there about 30 mins early to find approx 5 Foursomes standing around bags everywhere. Asked what was going on was told they were all waiting on carts because they didn't have enough. Asked how far behind they were was told by golfers 1 1/2 hours to 2. Our time was 12:37. Went into clubhouse to ask what was up, they said only 30 mins behind, guess they should have asked the golfers that were 2 hours behind. Asked what options were was told if I didn't wait and play I would get charged course rate. How about not getting to finish because of time and DARK was told if didn't get to start back 9 they would give a raincheck for another day. Past #9 they wouldn't do anything . Even though it's their fault. Got on GolfNow and booked a round down the street. A couple of groups hanging out waiting said they were told the same answer from proshop so they were waiting. Not us, The course we went to just happens to be right down the street, manager said Eastwood has 17 carts down for service, ok things break, QUIT booking tee times.
Water filled challenge
This was my first time playing Eastwood. The fairways are tight, water galore, a very scoreanke course if you keep it in play. The greens need work, a bit shaggy and unreliable. Overall a good value with very friendly and accomodating staff
Fun Course
This was my first time playing this course. I got a great deal through golf now, and its close to home. The staff was very friendly, start to finish. The course was in pretty good shape, although it could've used some water in some spots. The layout is great; the fairways are relatively generous, but a miss is definitely punished. The greens are predominately flat and receptive, but the bunkers can be tricky if you find yourself in one.
Sad decline
Course is in rough shape. It has a great layout but it's like they want to close. So many better courses available.
Slow greens
The golf course was in good shape from tee to near green. The greens were too slow and not in great shape. We had to use 3 different carts to get the 18 holes in.
Be Ready to be surprise!!!
First, there is no putting green. There is a sign but when I asked where it was, I was told that they did not keep it up so it got all grassy. Second, when I walked to the Pro Shop, there was a sign on the door that the "driving range was closed due to maintenance". When I asked what that mean, I was told they did not have anyone to puck up the ball therefore they did not have any range balls at the Pro Shop.
Lastly, I had to wait until 1 minute pass my tee time to get a cart because they were all being used by other customer.
But, other than that, the weather was great and the company (my golf buddies) where fun to play with. So be ready to be surprise!!!
Very Friendly Staff, Very Bad Course Conditions
The staff was extremely friendly and had our rain check waiting for us at the club house after some afternoon rain, which was great. The course however is in need of some serious repair and upkeep. Huge ant piles surrounded most of the greens and littered the fairways, the grass was patchy on much of the course. I wouldn't mind these things for a $12 round, but we paid $30 per golfer through GolfNow, so we kind of expected something a little nicer. The bar area is limited as well, just beer and wine, no Bloody Mary's for this Sunday round.
WOW, and that ain't good.
Staff very nice as usual, but no rangers out or cart running, so did not encounter too many. The layout is great, but the conditions have deteriorated so bad that it's playable, but not enjoyable. I have been coming on and off for several years an this is the worse I have seen it. Greens are OK in terms of rolling, but have loads of bad areas. The fairways alike are OK, but not much roll. The rough, horrible...
A little rough conditions but fun track!
Greens are a little fuzzy but roll true. Good bunkers and a lot of dog leg left. I enjoyed the course!
Greens Improving
The greens had just been aerated and were the best that I have seen this year. Staff as always is friendly. Also nice to play the course when it is dry.
Fine for the price
The course shows only hints of what I'm told was formerly a great track. The layout from the tips was very challenging and forced me to think about each and every shot. Narrow landing areas and small greens distract from the fact that the course is just not well maintained. Worth the $15 online rate but not much more than that. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Could be great with more attention to detail on the course.
Disappointed
Have lived in the Eastwood community for two years and have watched this golf course deteriorate. Roughs are in terrible condition. Greens have weeds growing on them so you don't have a smooth putt, and lots of tall or dead grass around that make it easy to loose your ball in.
Friendly staff coarse in rough shape
Fair shape, this coarse use to be a premier track, it's a shame to let this coarse go down hill
Very Poor Conditions
This might be the worst course I have played in a long time. For locals, it reminds me of either Magnolia Plantation or even Casselberry. At least Casselberry charges based on conditions. I paid just over $25 and stopped playing after the front 9. Eastwood should charge $15 tops for that mess of a course. Terrible drainage so muddy and bunkers were ponds. Huge ant hills everywhere. Tee boxes in terrible shape along with fairways and greens. The rough was very punishing. I lost balls just off of the fairway cause it was that deep. We were able to get a rain check for 9 holes but I won't go back. They should have just given me that money. I am very disappointed in this course as it was decent at one time. They have given up it seems.
Needs Golf Rescue or Golf Course Impossible
Where do I start? James was very nice in the golf shop!!! From there it was all down hill. In fact, he was the only staff member I saw. I thought the course was closed when I drove in. The range was closed, two carts in staging, and a cooler filled with drinks and two pre-made sandwiches in the golf shop.
I drove to the first tee and passed the ninth green and thought "Holy Cow Batman" this place is a disaster. There were ruts all over the place, rough at least 6-8 inches a foot from the fairway, no sand in the traps, the greens, if you can call them that, were un-puttable.
I went through a twosome on ten tee and they were the only people I saw until I finished. There were more snakes than golfers.
I only paid ten dollars to play. If I paid $10..01 I would have gone nuts.
