Course was flooded, to soggy to play, very poor drainage
I know Orlando has received a good amount of rain the past month but Eastwood was nearly unplayable. Don't know I'd they're watering on top of all the rain but I won't play it anymore.
nice course for the price
Although the course was in nice condition overall, we played the morning after a heavy evening rain storm. Course had a lot of areas that were soggy, making for difficult shots. On a dry day this would have been a very good golf experience.
Very long course
The course is in great condition and is very challenging.
Nice layout and good greens
While this course usually has nice greens, you need to stay in the middle of the fairways to avoid the rough spots on the edges. The sand traps could benefit from better drainage and maintenance. I have no less than 100 rounds here and continue to come back year after year.
Course is just descent
I feel like this course could look a lot better. The greens are pretty good but some fairways need attention. More importantly almost all of the bunkers are absolutely terrible. There are bunkers that are rock hard and some are ponds.
still a nice value, especially at $20
my son and I played midday with hit-and-miss showers but had a great time. fairways in good shape and greens were quite consistent and pretty quick (and drained well considering the rain).
If you start on the back, be prepared!
Recently played for the first time at Eastwood and had the course almost all to myself teeing off around 4pm on a weekday. However, two guys were just hitting tee shots on #1, so I went to #10 and decided to start my round from there. I never checked the scorecard and hit a long tee shot on the dogleg Par 5, only to discover just how far I still was from the green when arriving at my ball. #10 is a big 628 yards from the blue tees. And that is followed by the longest Par 4 on the card (#11) and then the longest Par 3 (#12). Then comes #13, which is only 383 yards, but the landing area narrows significantly the longer you hit your drive. However, if you don't hit it far enough, you cannot see the green on your second shot and there really is no line of sight target to aim the approach. As brutal as this stretch sounds, I enjoyed the round and found the course in very good condition. If you're one of those players who doesn't like courses with parallel holes, Eastwood is not for you. This does not bother me and I will play this course again without hesitation.
Course was in great shape!
The course is in fantastic shape. First time playing there and the value was fantastic.
Challenging course at a good price
I am not an excellent golfer; however, I have played at this course with two people who are better than me. One who is a par golfer that said that course was fun to play and the greens were excellent. The other shoots a little better than me and they believe the course is challenging.
course in good shape
played Eastwood yesterday - 5,25,13. Course was in good shape. Greens rolled nicely, not bumpy at all and they were pretty speedy. Pace of play was very good. We teed off around 9.15 and we finished around 1.30.
Good local course
It's in pretty good shape for a local course. Played alone so the pace was fast. Practice green was in rough shape, had me a little nervous, but on the course the greens were fine. Carts were fast! A little longer then your typical neighborhood course so it provided some nice challenges.
Eastwood Golfcourse
It has been a while since we played Eastwood due to lack of maintenance and we were pleasantly surprised that the course in a pretty good condition. Okay some areas need more attention and the sandtraps were very hard to play, too hard, little sand, but overall a rather good experience.
Mis-managed
The staff was not very friendly, they ran out of carts, they overbooked the course, the three foursomes in front of us were very, very slow, they had no golf etiquette and to make matters worse at least one in each group had a golf cart go bad on them.
Has to be one of the worst managed course I've ever played at. First time in my golf life that it took over 5 hours to play a round. The only friendly guys were the grounds keepers.
Fun course
This course is long and can create some fun shots like my blind approach to the 13th hole. Greens were in better than average condition, fairways in good shape. I will definitely be back to play soon.
A course that appears to be in decline.
I can only recommend this course because it is fairly cheap. That is never good if that is the main reason for the recommendation. Playing there yesterday, the fairways looked like they had not been mown in several days. No way to tell if you were in the rough or the fairway. The greens were OK. Hole 13 is one of the worst holes I have ever seen anywhere. A completely blind approach to the green over trees no matter where you drive it. Where is the skill in that?
This course is in great condition.
This golf course is challenging without being demoralizing. It has fairways that tease you, but don't become complacent...lots of trees and bunkers. Really fun course!
Excellent condition for better players
The rough is pretty rough and the bunkers have some major drainage issues, but the fairways and greens are fantastic. With some real unique (in a good way) holes, the overall great condition and a REALLY great price, I think I need to make this a regular stop. If you are not an accurate player and end up in the rough a lot, it would be a pretty tough round though as the rough is pretty much just mowed and not really "maintained". All things considered though, the price to value is great.
very challanging layout
course in very good condition except for the bunkers. some filled with water and the ones that weren't there was no attempt to rake or drag them. greens excellent.
Not what I was expecting !
After reading severl recent reviews we decided to try Eastwood,
The first three greens need attention, the fairways were wet and in need of attention.
The course did get better but still not the level or condition we were expecting.
Don't go there unless you have 6 hours for a round!
This is not the first time this has happened. Out tee time was at 7:52, get there at 7:30 and there are 5 groups of foursomes at the first tee. Some of them were already 20 minutes late from teeing off of there scheduled time and were not going anywhere soon. Although the 10th tee box was wide open, I do not understand why the did not have some of the groups start off on 10 to move things along. Again, this is the 2nd time I have seen this. Last time was a 5 1/2 hour round! There won't be a third time!
