Will be back.
The course is improving every week and it is in fair+ conditions. Pace of play was very good.
13 bucks to ride 18 holes on a Sunday
On this day, played around noon. No one in front, no one behind. No pressure to rush. Good day to learn and relax.
Tee boxes are short mown weeds. Most are not marked for yardage.
Fairways were the best thing going for the course, but US Open rough will kill high handicappers (like me). Expect to lose golf balls if you are not keeping it in the fairway. Metal yardage plaques are consistantly placed and accurate (as far as I can tell). Doglegs are at radical right angles and do NOT match the score card or the tee box pillar diagrams. So beware.
Bunkers are rock infested and need refilling with sand.
Greens would be interesting if kept up, but they are mostly brown and need to be overseeded. Pin flags were color coded and accurate which helped.
Driving Range and practice green are forgettable.
Staff was friendly so no complaints there.
This is a budget course and will challenge you to play fairways and greens in regulation. Woe unto you inaccurate golfers. Eastwood will eat you for lunch.
A rare bargain in this town, but you get what you pay for...
I've played worse courses and spent more to play them. I'll play here again.
This course could be really nice
This is a fine layout and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The course is in neglect and disrepair, most tee boxes are like beehives. You have to be careful where you stand or you might get stung.
I lost 3 balls in the rough but also found 3- they just sunk in.
They need to hire a few guys to maintain it and fix the issues.
But the layout is very nice.
First time visit
This course is very pretty, however the course maintenance on ALL ROUGHS AND GREENS are very poor. As well as the driving range. This course COULD be amazing. I got my tickets at a discount and after all the balls I lost in the unmowed areas, I may have lost money
I do not recommend
Wow
They have really let this place go. Lost close to 6 balls in the rough today. Greens are in rough shape. Some of the fairways can be confused with the first cut of rough. It’s sad to see what used to be a nice course. If you can play here for $15, it might be worth it as a practice round.
course sucks, greens saturated with water, no rain huh
most time you looked for your ball the grass has not been maintained anywhere on course. saw two employees all day no one working on course. trees down etc.
Unbelievable
Could be s 5 Star golf course wtf no one working in a 18 hole courses we only saw the guy who checked us in lol go whenever !!
Eastwood cc
I read the reviews before booking, and booked anyway because the price was good. Course is terrible, and we spent more time looking for our ball than playing. The fairways and the rough are about the same, terrible. We will not return to this course no matter the price.
Greens were not bad some needed work. The rough looked like it hadn't bee cut in about a week or more. Lost several balls we knew were in play.
Good, Bad and Ugly
1st off - very fun day day in the sun with a friend, not rushed, not many golfers. The value was great! Not very forgiving course. If you go in the rough you will take time to look for your ball. Also, no drinking water at all around the course, would have liked to refill water bottles. Cart was good and well maintained. Score card was accurate.
Going to pot.
It's been a while since I've played at Eastwood and while it did take a hit during the bad weather (rain, it was flooded and the sand-traps were full of water).
Management has now let the sand-traps cover over with weeds and grass and they have left the "rough" uncut, making it difficult to find a ball that goes astray.
While they have a small eating area at the clubhouse the only items that are available are "pre-wrapped" but the drinks are cold.
Course has dried out Ready for play
The course has dried out and was decent. All maintenance is pretty much caught up as this course does not drain well. I enjoyed the round and pace of play was good.
Bring your lawnmower!
This course is, without exaggeration, the worst course I’ve ever played.
I lost 8 balls IN THE FAIRWAY because of the poorly kept course. There were areas with 4-5 inch grass in the center of the fairway. The grass was 8-10 inches high in the rough in some places.
The greens were the best part of the corse. And they get a D+ on condition. So, that should tell you everything you need to know.
Cheap fees for a reason...
This used to be such a nice golf course. I played it many times years ago. But it is now one of the worst I ever played. The fairways were not mowed and the greens were in bad shape. Forget anything that drifted into the rough. The clubhouse restaurant was permanently closed and they had nothing else of value to offer. Much better courses in the area for the price.
Quirky, fun layout
The course has its appeal, some very good holes, and a couple of quirky flawed holes that are nevertheless interesting to play (Par 5 #10, and Par 4 #13 for instance). Given the position of the Golf Course industry, I am hopeful it can stay "alive". Its my GO-To for a fast, inexpensive round, in this case 2.5 hours. Conditions are poor, but acceptable, and the greens were fine. The maintenance budget has to be tight and appropriate ground under repair adjustments are our answer to this. Hopefully play will pick up in the tourist season and allow things to improve.
fantastic value for the money
Fantastic value for the money, especially if you can get a hot deal at Golf now. Greens in good condition. The rough was in the process of being cut so extremely long in some places but they were working on cutting them.
