Great little nine-hole course

Great little nine-hole course.

I played Alnmouth Village on Sunday with my brothers because many of the local courses were closed due to the heavy rain. I was pleasantly surprised to find the fairways were dry because the natural drainage is fantastic.

Living only 30 odd miles away I frequently visit Alnmouth as it is such a pretty village. I had sat on the tables next to the first tee on many occasions with my family and dog enjoying a nice drink or a snack from the clubhouse bar. The staff are really welcoming and friendly.

Although the course is short, and not very demanding, I really enjoyed playing there. The views are great and the course was in nice condition, especially considering the rain we have had here recently. The greens however were slow, But all being considered regarding the weather, I don’t think the green staff will have had a chance to cut them for a few days,. I have heard from my many friends who have played there many times, that the greens are usually fast and true.

I would recommend Alnmouth Village golf club to anyone looking for Play something out golfing, especially if the weather is good like it was on Sunday. 😁

First links experience

Although Alnmouth Village is only a nine hole course the location is stunning. The quality of the fairways and greens is something to behold.

The sound of the sea waves lapping onto shore is so surreal as you play a game that you love.

I thoroughly enjoyed my first links experience there and I will look forward to playing there many times in the future.

Alnmouth Village

The greens were in fantastic condition. They putt true on speed and direction and credit must go to the Course Manager. Scenery never disappoints and it is always dry under foot. The road which crosses the course can be busy and sometimes slows play down. Good value for money and friendly staff in the clubhouse.

Lovely challenging course.

We played on a sunny day as a 3 ball with little wind. As it runs along the coast it would be very challenging on a windy day!

The greens were excellent and the course is well maintained. It is a bit tight with golfers getting in each others way and a road running across the course to a beach side car park is a little annoying. Overall though we enjoyed the game.

Whilst the staff were OK, they could not be described as welcoming.

A 90 year olds view

A true links course with good greens.A very accurate tee shot is a must to avoid the heavy rough areas.

The ramp down from the 7th tee is long and steep and difficult for older people with battery trolleys.

Nevertheless we enjoyed this challenging course and our thanks to the helpful staff

Perfect location and fantastic greens

Apart from the cross overs on some greens/tees, this is a superb links course. The views are stunning and the greens were true. We really enjoyed this course.

Worth a visit

Glad to have played it once. Fairways were suffering a bit from recent dry weather but the greens were immaculate. Staff and locals and the treasurer, John, all very welcoming.. I would imagine that if only members are playing it would be ok as everybody would know what to do but to me it looked far too dangerous with lots of shared fairways and confusion as to who should play next, a road crossing the middle of the course with motorists and pedestrians oblivious of golfers about to play and a footpath at the side of a fairway where walkers are in serious danger of a not too wayward drive. Spending £30k on a new green to make the 7th a short hole would be a good start to make the course safer.

Next time--BUGGY .

I recovered back at the clubhouse with a pint----decided to sell my clubs & stay on the drink---goodbye golf xx
