First time around
Managed the course the more we played. Want to come back.
Nice Links
Course is an old fashioned style links course. Short if you get your drives away, with exception of 8th. The greens are the best I have played on.
The weather was very king to us, warming and not very windy with lovely views of the coastline.
The only problem is parking, as there are lots of walkers parking there cars in small village and small car park for golf club. Had to park on outskirts and walk in, but no real distance.
Superb links course
A favourite course for me.
When I was stepping up from par 3, 9 hole courses, this course gave me the opportunity to use driver off the tees, without the time/ concentration demands of full 18.
Generally open fairways (with one or two notable exceptions) but still lots of challenge with undulating lies and exposed to wind.
Greens play very true, excellent work by ground staff.
Members/ staff very friendly/ helpful. Excellent clubhouse/ bar/ practice facilities.
Great little links
Great 9 hole links course, in great condition, greens were superb. Good value and nice club house with friendly staff
Great 9 hole course.
Ideal course for a bit if quirky links golf.Great challenge greens were in excellent condition considering recent heavy rain.
Lovely day out
I played this course on the August bank holiday Monday, teeing off at 8.25am. Weather was lovely, course in really good condition, greens were fantastic. Pace of play was very good on first 9 but slowed for second 9 as other groups joined. Cracking bacon sandwich after the round, walk down the beach and then returned for a pint on the tables outside the club house. Very friendly staff. Definitely would return.
Fantastic greens but a little too quirky
The course is beautiful, parking is difficult as there is high demand for beach goers. The 9 holes are nice but they arent all that difficult early on. all of the 8 par 4s are short and are mainly on shared fairways. The greens were some of the purest ive ever played on and they aren't lightning fast. pedestrians are a major hazard on this course and this drastically effects the pace of play. Would be nice if there was different tee boxes for the 2 lots of nine as i can imagine the course could get repetitive. the hole up the hill and the hole down the hill were too quirky for me and felt like they didnt test your ability as much as you would expect from links golf, definitely worth a try though for the price
Magnificent greens
Loved playing here greens are to die for. Fairways not up to same standard and the rough Is so unforgiving. Not an easy course in the wind but very enjoyable.
Great 9 holes
First time playing this course and not disappointed, good links layout with phenomenal greens.
nice course,lovely outlook
A very nice course which had some challenging areas.Weather was not the best but it did not spoil the day.
Has to be played
Womderful traditional links course. A good test for all handicaps. Played it in proper links conditions 30mph winds but still smiled on every hole.
Starts gently but once you're round the turn and up the hill wow what a course
Tees excellent fairways really good and the greens were superb
Will be back again hopefully if slightly calmer conditions
Lovely little 9 hole course
Took the opportunity to play this 9 hole course (reputedly the oldest 9 hole links in England) whilst holidaying in the area. Despite having to be patient at times due to other groups and the shared fairways/tee-off priorities, by simply following the instructions and with the help, humour and courtesy of the locals I can happily report that this was an absolute delight. Staff in the clubhouse helpful, course condition excellent, greens/tees well presented, and friendly geordies!
Myself and husband played it for the first time the course was great and the staff and members were very friendly and helpful definitely want to play it again
Pace of play
Pace of play was poor due to vast numbers of the public walking across and around the course ( some dog walkers, some just out for a stroll, and a coach party of school children ) ... on the positive side, sea views were good
A little gem.
A wonderful little 9 hole course in a picturesque setting. The greens were exceptional, even in this unusual spell of hot weather. It is a credit to the TWO greens staff.
