Back to its best
Not played here since last year, course playing as good as I’ve ever played, firm running fairways and greens in great nick. Chipping area & surrounds have improved since last visit, great to see a lovely course as it should be presented, well done to all involved.
Brancepeth
We had a great day and thoroughly enjoyed our day it was a great test of golf with some challenging holes. Many thanks to everyone there. We will return for another round in the future.
Fantastic
First time playing this course and was blown away by it even in the rain. Everything in great condition with some real picturesque unique holes. Course has a good layout with some real challenging holes, some great long par
3's. Pro shop guy was great and helpful. I can't believe some of the other local courses are rated higher on here in local area, for me its my new number one.
A real golfing challenge
An excellent course with a wide variety of challenging holes to give the golfer something to enjoy and remember.. Only reason I can't give 5 stars is that the course was under going green maintenance at the time i playing. All round a thoroughly enjoyable experience which I would highly recommend.
Excellent course
Such a great course layout and condition as always. Was 30 years since I first played here and always one of my favourite courses. Be back soon again for sure
Some great holes.
Challenging course, greens where good but the grass on some of the fairways is dry, damaged and patchy.
Still worth a play.
Top course
On par with Tyneside for condition post COVID-19 but a far superior test of golf Absolutely love this course
Stunning Views
As usual course in great condition always like playing here well presented everyone friendly a joy to visit.
OUTSTANDING
We have wanted to play this course for a long time but due to high green fees we have avoided it, up until yesterday when we found a "HOT DEAL" on Tee Off Times. Now I can understand why they ask so much for green fees. I have played golf for 14 years , pretty much every course in the North East. Brancepeth Castle Golf Course is definitely up there with the best. The Pro in the shop was friendly and helpful. Good practice area with 2 putting greens and nets. The course was in Excellent condition. The Greens are the best I have played on this year and were very quick. Like someone mentioned in a previous review "You need to see these Par 3's to believe them." Beautiful views . We were lucky as no one was holding us up . and we had a nice relaxed round. We cant wait to return. 5 STAR ALL ROUND
Beautiful setting
Had a wonderful day this is a little gem of a course.
Staff where chatty , friendly and smiling. I would recommend this course to all. it’s not easy but you don’t get bored with the scenery whilst working out how to approach the lovely but difficult par 3’s.
Thanks for a great day out Brancepeth !!
Superb
As usual one of the best golf courses in the North East condition was great for this time of year can't wait to get back & play it again
Mates golf day out at Brancepeth
Excellent weather, course conditions and course. The greens had just been tined and sanded so in a couple of weeks time the course will be in top condition. It had been a couple of years since we last played it but will certainly be back soon.
A month too early
Played this beautiful course on a beautiful day but was very disappointed with the condition. The second hole was completely closed, there were several winter greens in play and numerous tee boxes were off mats. To compound this there was no play from the fairways!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! instead picking and placing in the semi rough. None of this was brought to our attention prior to playing despite a visit to the pro shop!
Not worth the money as many courses are in much much better condition!
Highly recommended
Heard about this course from a friend and lived up to all my expectations, really good course and the par 3’s have got to be seen to be believed. I will definitely go back next summer to see this course in it’s true splendour
Golf
Slowest round of golf I have had in the last 10 years 41/2 hours is not good when there is no competition been played
Interesting course - tough par 3s!
Pleasant members club with an interesting layout and some seriously challenging par 3s. Along with most courses just now the fairways were parched dry and very firm. Greens however were very well watered, soft and true. Overall a well maintained course.
A well established parkland layout with most fairways being based on old fashioned fields. This means they are broad and ‘wave’ up and down, leading to some interesting bounces and stances. You can even end up feeling a bit sea-sick! There’s a decent variety in length and shape which keeps thing interesting. It’s the par 3s that are the really challenging part though. They’re all tough with very little margin for error.. the 10th in particular is a beast, much harder than the 9th (hardest 9th in world golf).
All in a pleasant, well maintained and interesting course.
